The service here is excellent, the food very good and the location superb!
Good food, good friendly service despite being very busy, good value for money with the fixed menu, which also offer good choice and a free kir royale to boot
Good food and a nice atmosphere; however, I felt a little misled by the website, which was in my view not clear that there was no Pre-Theatre menu at the Royal Festival Hall - only the more expensive Prestige menu - and service was a bit slow for a pre-concert booking, so we ended up having to rush.
TABLE RESERVATION WAS SATISFATORY, SERVICE WAS HELPFUL AND POLITE , MENU WAS IMAGINATIVE FOOD WAS WELL PRESENTED, TASTY AND GENEROUS PORTIONS, GOOD ALUE FOR MONEY
as usual everything was spot on! The Formule breakfast is excellent.
Good food and friendly service. The cocktail was a delight and the waiter was charming. I have been to many other Cote branches but this one was new to me. Very convenient location on South Bank.
Really poor service sadly. We had to flag down staff at every stage: to get a menu, to order a drink, to order food, to get the bill, to pay the bill. It felt like hard work and took from 5.20-8.15. The food was ok, but no side plates or knives offered for bread/butter/olives, side salad delivered instead of green beans, and all good could have been hotter. So glad we were post theatre rather than pre, or we would not have made the performance.
Good for a quick dinner before a theatre, concert or some other show. Good value menu for 13 for two courses and served quickly. Friendly service.
Good and efficient service. Reasonably-priced for the pre-theatre menu. Quite nice food. Tables rather too close together, which made it rather noisy. Excellent location for South Bank venues.
Very fast service, good choice of food for a pre-theatre set menu. 3 courses and a glass of wine each for two people £46, which I thought was very good value. Food was excellent too
Fabulous food with fabulous service in a fabulous atmosphere. The staff were delightful and so helpful; and the food was delicious, highly recommended Côte Festival Hall and look forward to returning.
Reasonable value for 3 course menu. The restaurant was busy with pre-theatre diners but nevertheless the service was quick and very efficient. OK if you are not looking for fine dining.
Excellent pre-theatre menu, great attentive service and food beautifully cooked and presented. A welcoming and confortable restaurant. Ideally situated for the South Bank entertainment complex.
Lovely meal in a very convenient location. Even though our main course was delayed the service was extremely friendly, and the staff were very apologetic. We will certainly return.
Food is good; However, Lack of staffs; Hard to find someone to order; Lack of service; 5-6 Flies in the restaurant; Overall, not a good experience
Very busy pre concert meal. Service was efficient and friendly, chose the a la Carte specials which was very good, the lamb cooked perfectly. Excellent location for the South Bank venues.
Great buzzing bistro full of people either going to a concert or meeting friends before catching a train home from Waterloo. Friendly staff and usual range of high quality food.
Excellent meal and nice staff but service a little slow probably due to them being very busy and only two girls on the lower level.
We enjoyed a quick but excellent meal at Cote in a surprisingly quiet corner of the lovely restaurant before our show at SouthBank on Saturday. We visit quite a few Cote as we like the service, the excellent menu and decor. Cote offers quality food at a value for money price and is a perfect venue for pre-theatre meals, lunches and casual dining. Thank you!
Would of been 5 but only a 4 because they didnt have bbq sauce. Service was good, food was real good. Staff were friendly. U woild deffo go again
The food was very good and reasonable but took too long to arrive. One dish didn't at all - so 5 were eating, one was not. The waiter ploncked a basket of bread in front of that one! Last dish arrived at last, but could only be half eaten as we had to get to the theatre.
Overcooked, stringy beef stew. Tasteless chicken breast. Requested French onion soup was said to be unavailable by our server and then served to the next table and several others in sight in a few minutes.
Good location on the Southbank and all it has to offer. Set menu for lunch was lovely and nicely cooked / prepared. Staff were friendly and efficient. I shall return.
Overall satisfactory only. The leek and egg starter was difficult to chew as the leek was stringy. The mains we had were also disappointing. The hake was over cooked and the beans not great. We were offered complimentary desserts which were nice.
I go to a Cote whenever I can. I have never, ever been disappointed. Where can one eat 3 courses in London for £15. Price jumps up quite a bit with wine and service charge. Always best to buy wine by the bottle and not the glass. It is also your right to ask the service charge to be taken off and then you can leave what you wish. Really lovely freshly cooked food!
My husband and I had lunch before going to the theatre. The waiter was excellent and the food was very tasty. It was a lovely lunch.
A lovely lunch. The service at this Cote is exemplary.
This was our first experience in a Cote Brasserie and will not be our last if we come across another one. Booked table in advance so no problem there although tables for 2 are very close and "cosy" so don't expect to talk sweet nothings without the next table hearing them ........... We ended up having long chats with couple on next table (not sweet nothings but they did tell us they always go there when going to theatre next door and never disappointed). Excellent location for Royal Festival Hall which is opposite. We both went for set menu (dearer of the 2 available) and we both thoroughly enjoyed both courses, the rib eye was cooked just as I like it and requested, and my wife's chicken was apparently succulent with a nice crispy skin. No problems with the food. Only "complaint" was that we did not expect the discreet tip that was added to the bill, which if it was mentioned on the menu was well hidden. But as the servicce and food was good I won't moan about that too much
High quality food served in a professional manner. Pleasant surroundings within easy reach of Southbanks concert halls and theatres. The set menus are excellent value and are changed monthly. Well worth a visit
Usually give Cote five stars, but this time exceptionally slow service which meant didn’t have enough time to finish main course of rather tough, over cooked minute steak ( unusual too ) before going to the theatre. The restaurant was very busy and maybe too much fir the kitchen to cope with? First time ever that I have not been happy so will certainly try again!
Good food. Service was average at best. Started well but waiter was overwhelmed/ overworked and service declined which cost the restaurant another bottle of wine!. Good location.
Great food, friendly service, good value. Location perfect for nearby Southbank and National Theatre. Breton Fish Stew is a stand out on the regular menu, whilst the lamb on the seasonal menu is excellent.
Food was good. Waitress friendly and helpful. BUT my order took over an hour to arrive !! Admittedly the restaurant was very busy. Fortunately we decided to have our lunch early otherwise we would have to rush to our appointment.
Always a pleasure to eat at Cote. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Lovely welcome, such excellent service throughout our meal I sought out the Manager to compliment him on their staff. Friends met for brunch - great value and great quality food - £ 10.95 for a fruit juice, hot drink of choice, and then anything from the breakfast range - we had a full English breakfast and an Eggs Benedict/Smoked Salmon - generous portions and excellent quality. Only slight negative - range of hot drinks include choice of teas but not Green Tea which is increasingly popular so surprised didn't stock. Will definitely return.
Big Fan of Cote but found this one lacking in atmosphere & despite not being over full, very noisy . Not helped by the downstairs bit being closed off
Faultless experience. Great location next to the entrance if the Royal Festival hall. Dined from the prestige set menu , great choice and value with three courses for under £20.00.. service was swift and polite. No issues and would visit again and recommend.
Great value pre-theatre menu in a central setting. Plesant attentive staff, tasty food and an inoffensive wine list - Not bad for the Southbank 👌
Great service, great food, great atmosphere. We had the crab mayonaise and the salmon. The waitress checked on us regularly and was very friendly, which makes all the difference.
Perfect location for the south bank. Great service considering the restaurant was full. We were seated down stairs which was very noisy, would have preferred a table upstairs if we had realised.
Great location for trains from Waterloo and good value. Polite staff, nice decor and perfectly situated. Would definitely book again and I would recommend to others.
Good llocation, good food and attentive service. A very pleasant experience for a family get together. We will definitely come again in the near future.
Good food. Fast polite and friendly service. Pleasant ambience. Have booked two further visits. (Filler to meet minimum word count x x x x ).
Thought we would try again after a negative visit a year ago. Long wait for french onion soup to come - 30 mins. Burnt toasted bread, cold soup. Asked for hot soup. Another 15 min wait - cold soup. Staff pleasant, but didnt know how to deliver. We walked out.
Very good food, service and atmosphere. The breakfast was cooked to perfection.
Really good quality, particularly the Premium pre-theatre set dinner. Staff are always rushed but they work hard and get there in the end. Great value too
Always reliable in terms of food, this busy new branch is very handily placed for the Festival Hall. The set menu is excellent value and the staff are very pleasant. Service was surprisingly swift in spite of large numbers of diners.
A very pleasant meal, served promptly. The staff were really friendly. A good choice for a quick post matinee dinner before taking the train home.
Good food, good service, reasonable prices. And a handy location. The football mob round the Festival Hall that evening (for the FIFA awards) didn't affect my enjoyment of Cote within.
Lovely atmosphere and very friendly efficient service. The food, as always, was delicious, especially the sea bream fillets with pea puree, followed by creme caramel.
