Excellent food and service especially as it was busy Good waiter

The food, service and atmosphere were great as it always is.

At present I have a gall bladder problem which means I cannot eat food made with rich ingredients. So fat is out for me. I wanted the monkfish, steamed rather than pan fried but couldn’t have this or any other dish since they told me everything comes from a food centre so the chef doesn’t actually cook from fresh. I managed to have plain cooked asparagus with a poached egg, but was brought a dish of boiled potatoes for my main without a plate to serve on. There wasn’t anything I could eat that wasn’t cooked in oil, butter or cream. It obviously isn’t a place for anyone with food problems. We were left waiting between courses for ages. Our booking was for 1pm but we didn’t leave the restaurant until after 3pm. There was no cutlery …we had to ask for it. The service wasn’t the best. I felt neglected even though one of the women came and suggested what I might have to eat. Unfortunately, it being a French restaurant, most of the food is rich in fat. I still like the restaurant and it’s food though for me at present it isn’t a place to go to.

Another wonderful meal, with excellent service. Great fish and steak.

Brilliant as always, great food and the attentive staff are always readily available to sort out any requests you have.

My Breton Stew was a little underwhelming for flavour and content- mussels and sauce quite bland.

Is this a Joke? I received an email from you that you had closed Cote Shrewsbury (Despite it being in tier 2 and all the other restaurants in Shrewsbury being open!) and therefore we couldn't dine there so we booked another restaurant instead and had a great meal- i am very disappointed that you cancelled us- we certainly wont be using Cote again!

We can't rate it as we received an email from the restaurant cancelling our booking because they would be closed. We were extremely annoyed as Shropshire is in Tier 2 which means that restaurants are allowed to serve food. It was made worse because it was a special treat for our daughter who, as a junior doctor, has been working flat out to look after patients during this pandemic and deserved a treat. We are regulars at Cote Shrewsbury and find it a complete mystery why they should be closed. Not sure if we will go back.

Really enjoyed breakfast at Cote on Christmas Eve. It felt like a treat. All the food was top notch but the full english had been left just a little too long under the hot lamp. the sausage was very well done and the eggs brown on the top. The sausage was removed discreetly and replaced. No problem. Our second latte order went forgotten but it was ok we payed and left. Would deffo return.

My wife and I had a lovely three course lunch from the Christmas menu, the food and service were all excellent as normal, and covid wise they have it dead right in making you feel safe but not over the top at the same time, Well done.

Do not recommend at all, we arrived and were taken to a table. We then waited and our food arrived and drinks after . We received rock hard sausage and over cooked mushroom and cold scrambled egg . Ladies toilets not clean a broken seat also in the toilets . Very very poor what a shame you used to be so efficient.We use cote quite frequently in usual times . Since covid we haven’t . As a family we didn’t feel safe here at all with an old air on unit above our head and no ventilation.

We were made to feel so welcome, the Sparkling wine was lovely but I’m not a champagne lover and was verging more on champagne than Prosecco ( sorry I know you French and not Italian!). Food was delicious a little bit more Jus would have been perfect and the coupe de chocolat never fails to impress. Hope you all have a truly lovely Christmas x

As usual we had an excellent tasty meal with fantastic, friendly and efficient service. As far as COVID is concerned we felt very safe with plenty of space between tables and all other precautions being taken seriously.

Fantastic, amazing food and service. The wine pairings were such good accompaniments to the Christmas Menu that a friend, who was dinning with me at the time, turned to me and declared: "I feel like i'm in heaven".

The crab mayo wasn’t what it used to be, the taste of crab was elusive the capers were minute and devoid of flavour, I will not order that again. It used to be my go to starter of choice. A great shame.
