Côte Winchester

Service very average. Presentation and quality of food poor. Decor and location good. Compared to other Cote restaurants I've been to the one in Winchester was not up to standard.

We all had the early evening set menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good value deal and we will have it again but probably as a lunch option.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Lots of atmosphere even early in the evening. Cote is definitely our favourite restaurant at the moment. And the menu always had something new and interesting to try.

Welcome, as in all the Cote restaurants I have used, was warm and friendly Service was pleasant - food, as usual, was well cooked and well presented. Restaurant was not as busy as our usual one in Norwich, therefore the noise level was nowhere near as loud as we have grown used to. Overall an enjoyable dining experience.

A very warm welcome and excellent service with nice food, a touch of France. It was easy to book through internet site and was given a reminder, very well done.

Great evening and food. The staff were extremely good especially considering that they had real problems all day due to a fire in an adjoining building.

Tasty starter of smoked mackerel but bland main course of sea bass. Waitress was too persistent, constantly at the table interrupting our conversation! Ambiance good for a Friday evening.

Processed chain type food, there was nothing specifically wrong it just felt average, the service was average, with a surprising impression of dis interest from the staff.

I just would prefer the 12.5% tip was not added to the bill. When I asked for it to be removed, I was asked was I happy with the service, was everything OK? Yes it was. I left a cash tip of 10%!

The room we were seated has low ceiling ,we found it very noisy, which made it impossible to hear one and other speaking. Food and service very good though.

Most enjoyable evening and everyone very helpful and accommodating of special food. Also had excellent lunch earlier n the week. Highly recommend to others X

Really good value and interesting food. I went there with a small group of friends and we all agreed we would eat there the next time they came to Winchester.

Easy to book online. Our favourite place to eat in Winchester as the service is very good, food excellent and overall fantastic value especially when compared with other establishments.

Lovely atmosphere and service. Unfortunately some of the food was cold! Would still prefer to pay a tip independently and not have it added to the bill.

Excellent meal enjoyed by all and our party of seven were well looked after. Some of us had the 10 th anniversary menu with a glass of champagne included. Creme caramel best I've tasted. l

We always enjoy the experience of eating at Cote. The food is great and well priced, the service is friendly. I miss the crab mayonnaise starter from the menu. It was on the Cote 25 year special, but sadly no longer on the main menu!

My wife and I had a wonderful lunch on Friday and the young lady that looked after us was a real star! Food was great as always - Thank you

As expected, a great lunch. It rained after our lunch so we sat in waiting out the rain. The lunch crowd had cleared and we realised it was a great place for quiet afternoon teas too!

A wonderful Bretton fish stew as always! Plus cheery staff and ambience. There are other really good meals on the menu and changing every month.

Took my daughter there on her 18th birthday. The food was excellent as was the service.... The staff were very helpful and cheerful and the menu had a good choice as did the special lunch menu.

Bit of an unenthusiastic welcome from the greeter. Good service and very good food. Chicken choices excellent. Don't like paying extra for bread and sauces.

I always enjoy the food and the service at Cote in Winchester. It isn't haute cuisine but is excellent value for money and is suitable for "ladies who lunch" frequently!

Lovely friendly and efficient service from Hope. Food excellent, as always. A very reliable restaurant chain. Well managed. Similar service levels in all branches I have visited. No mean feat.

Unfortunately a long wait and then tepid food , however, very fairly we were not charged for the meal only drinks. Will visit again as usually very good.

My lunch was excellent and I think everyone enjoyed their choices, no complaints which is unusual as we do not hesitate to complain if unsatisfied !

Great midweek set menu. Alcohol free beer was available which was great! Service was good and always a nice busy atmosphere. Lovely for a larger group as well as a small quiet dinner

Would have been higher but the waitress was a little rude towards the end of the meal. She constantly tried to upsell us "Oh don't drink that wine drink this one" and "Are you going to be boring and not have a dessert?" The food was lovely and very tasty and the venue is equally nice. But when your waitress complains that she won't receive much of the 'included' tip and that she'd prefer if we gave her cash....it's going to leave a bad taste in your mouth.

A very pleasant evening with family. Service attentive and efficient. Although the menu doesn't change a great deal there was plenty to choose from. Good value for money, convivial atmosphere and tasty food.

Staff very friendly and atmosphere is very nice. The menu is not updated enough. Some of the portions are not enough. Better selection of beers would also be good. Just small bottles of larger available. They are expensive too.

"Warm goats cheese" salad served with also "warm" roasted vegetables on a bed of lettuce which wilted it. My steak rapide was barely warm , which means it must have been waiting a long time before being brought to the table. Not up to the usual Cote standard of other branches!

A pleasant lunch, reasonable value . Restaurant a little noisy, and wine a little warm, Second time this has happened, perhaps it would be a good idea to store the wine in the fridge before placing in Ice bucket

Perfect brunch place for 3 hungry children after landing from Asia. Great eggs and even a vegetarian option for one of the children. Coffee was great, waitering staff welcoming and kitchen staff accommodating for requests of small changes in the set breakfast. Well Done!

Food and service very good but sitting upstairs it was difficult to hear each other. Maybe some sound absorbing ceiling tiles would help. Servings are generous.

We arrived for lunch at 12:30 and left at about 16:30 so I think that says something about how much we enjoyed the ambience. The food on the whole was very good. Just one exception and that was an under ripe melon which couldn't be eaten. This was not brought to the attention of our friendly waiter and was not charged on the bill.

Great authentic brasserie style french restaurant with tasty food. Friendly staff and a good vibrant atmosphere. Wide menu with plenty of choice including desserts. Definitely recommended.

Lovely restaurant, with a great, varied menu. The staff were nice and welcoming, and made a real difference. Food was excellent! Definitely recommend the Coupe Noire for dessert!
