Cowshed - Liverpool

Absolutely amazing. From the minute we walked in the door we were treated like special guests. The service was great, we weren’t rushed out the door even though it’s a fairly small restaurant. The food... was just incredible. One of the best meals I have ever had anywhere in the world. We had 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 large glasses of wine and a soft drink and the bill was only £55. For the quality of the food it was a bargain. We will definitely be back.

Loved it! The food was excellent, we had the greedy cow, would definitely recommend it. Staff were lovely and friendly, what more could you ask for!!

The service was quick and excellent as we were on a tight time schedule. The fillet steaks were to die for as were the side dishes. My husband had a Rump steak which he said was very tasty but slightly on the tough side. However, it did not detract from a great evening. The second time we have been and we will certainly go again. Food was delicious and nice and hot. Would have been nice to have had more choice of vegetables. Also the greens were in a sauce but everyone doesn't like sauces.

First visit to the Cowshed. Didn’t disappoint. Excellent food and service. Have already booked to go back in a couple of weeks time. Would definitely recommend!

Restaurant is plain bare brick walls ,bit of paint would not be a miss ,ceiling needs looking at ,anyway staff excellent and food very nice,would recommend for anyone who enjoys beef

Macaroni cheese bites were delicious. Rump steak cooked as ordered, very tasty and tender. Rounded off with a wonderful red wine. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Would visit again if ever in Liverpool

We all absolutely loved it at The Cowshed it was excellent. The food and staff were fantastic. We will definitely be coming back can’t recommend enough.

Steak was fantastic, rocket and Parmesan shavings not really the right accompaniment in my opinion, mixed salad would have been better.The only vegetable dish was cabbage and green beans-not good at all, they did take them off the bill!

Don't let the front of the building fool you, this place is great. Food Is beautiful, staff are friendly, service is quick and the decor is rustic. Had a lovely experience.

Absolutely fantastic food, outstanding service by Luke, really cheap food would recommend to anyone and everyone. The white choxolate espresso cocktail was to die for will defentiently be returning again soon xx

Food was great, service superb. I would definitely come back/recommend. Good prices, keeping it simple and focusing on what they do - a winning formula for me. Too many restaurants try too hard and don’t deliver on the promises they make. This is not one of them

Great steaks, nice wine, friendly service, good value. Particularly liked being given a nice big table which could have seated 4, rather than having to squeeze plates onto a small table for 2.

Beautiful little restaurant. Very unusual layout in that it's multiple small rooms across three floors. Great service, beautiful food and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Staff were amazing as always .. tried the chefs special (3rd week in a row) and I must say it was delicious! I’m in love with the Elderflower & Peach Martini 🍸 be warned! They’re very addictive .. love this place .. best steak in town

Beautiful ribeye steak probably the best I’ve ever had and the side dishes were equally good and very generous portions. The meal was very reasonably priced and the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant

The best steaks, The Greedy Cow(s) is a great option to share between two! Menu is a great size (I stress out at large menus). CowShed have stuck to what they know! Staff are very accommodating, attentive and made us feel right at home in what felt like the it living room - we will be back!

Superb. If you want a steak in the great city of Liverpool this is the place to go. 100% fantastic. We had the sharing plate. Great value.

So lovely and quirky, delicious food and really helped make my boyfriends 21 special! Simple menu but the food was delicious and would reccomend to any steak lover.

Lovely place with steak cooked to perfection, wish there was one in Glasgow! Drinks menu also nice, everything priced separately so you have a choice of side not just the usual chips but sweet potato mash for instance, also choice of four or five different sauces to go with it.

Great! Service was great, food was reasonably priced and the quality was spot on. Never been before up until last night but heard very good things - they were right!

The restaurant was very homely and inviting, with a relaxed feeling. The only thing better than the meal (one of the best I've ever had) was the service, nothing was too much trouble, everything was explained in a manner easy to understand, and everything was done with a smile (natural not forced).

The food was delicious, the music was audible but not intrusive, the staff were friendly and attentive but not 'in your face' - we couldn't fault it. The menu is simple - you're going to a steak house, so everything is about the steak! Would definitely recommend.

The meal was absolutely fantastic and the service was excellent. The waitress recommended a red wine which was delightful. My husband had the special fillet steak and I had a fillet steak with sides of sweet potato mash, the mushrooms and the cabbage with beans in chorizo cream and they were all delicious. We rounded off the meal with their cheese board which was lovely. The background music was excellent and was not loud so you could enjoy the music but still carry on a conversation. A lovely restaurant with excellent food and service. A real joy.

Venue and food fantastic however as Rose wine drinkers we found it disappointing that there was only one choice which was not to our taste

Had been recommended The Cow Shed by friends and headed there on a visit to Liverpool and had a great meal! The restaurant is small but perfectly formed as they say and am always put at ease when the menu is quite minimal as this usually means the food is fresh rather than frozen. The choice of food on offer was just right and the rump steak was cooked to perfection and the wine served at a good temperature. Slight disappointment with the waffles as thought they would be more 'rustic' but they were tasty enough. Service was spot on and you weren't neglected or rushed out the door and the place was very clean and tidy. Would definitely come back here and have already recommended it to friends who are also coming over to Liverpool.

Went here for a special anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! Portions are large so take care not to over-order sides as we did. Steaks are best we have had in a long time and everything tastes fresh and home made, especially the bearnaise sauce and sweet potato mash. cocktails and house wine excellent but the best thing was the atmosphere and the service. We booked 2 weeks in advance, and would advise you do this, as word is spreading about this place. It doesn't look much from the outside and is spread over several floors inside (so mobility may be a problem for some) but if you want great food at a reasonable price we would certainly recommend the Cowshed.

Highly recommend - lovely steaks cooked to perfection. The service was very good and our waitress gave detailed descriptions of all the different menu options. We will definitely return. The rib-eye steak with savoy cabbage green beans and chorizo cream was fantastic.
