Nice surroundings, maybe lacking a bit if atmosphere tonight. Two of us really enjoyed food, two of us thought it was average . staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the night

We were a group of 6 ladies who all trained as nurses together 52 years ago and we meet for lunch every 6 months. We have met at George’s the last couple of times. The food is deliciously cooked and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. We were allowed as much time as we wanted as we had plenty to chat about and we were never rushed. Having taken 3 hours over lunch I just hope we are not blacklisted next time we visit!!

My wife and I arrived at 15.00 hrs and chose the early bird menu.. The restaurant was quite quiet at this time and the food and service was excellent. The young waitress was very helpful and polite.

We were in a group of 5 for lunch. In the end we all chose from the set menu. On the day we were there, the menu included baked camembert with beautifully soft fresh bread as a starter, with main courses that included cod with new potatoes and noodle dishes - a nice selection and very enjoyable food. Friendly, attentive service in pleasant surroundings.

We went for Sunday roast at around 7pm, we were a bit disappointed they had run out of beef but that was our fault for eating later not theirs, so we had the pork - and it was incredible! One of the best roasts I’ve had. The pudding was fantastic too

Roomy table for 8. Discrete but attentive service and an excellent menu. We enjoyed the three course Sunday lunch, fantastic quality food. We are already planning our next visit from Oxford when visiting our daughter in Salford. Hope to have her graduation lunch here in July, but plan to visit before then.

We had a fantastic meal for 4. The restaurant manager Felicity was very welcoming and attentive. Unfortunately, I can not recall our waitress's name but she was polite and service was excellent. The foot was amazing the Spicy Squash Soup, hare loin and scallops were delicious. The mains of Beef Fillet Wellington, Pork Chop and Duck breast were not only cooked to perfection they were very filling! I wish I had taken Felicity's advice to share the Wellington as there was definitely no room for dessert! We will definitely book again.

A special birthday lunch where the waitress was welcoming, courteous and efficient. The food was well presented and cooked to perfection. Our party will definitely revisit soon and would recommend Georges without reservation.

We love George’s, We go often. Delicious food, excellent service and lovely surroundings. Our favourite place around for Sunday roast but love to come in for a drink or lunch too. Would highly recommend.

Very quiet yet still very poor service. 1 hour wait from sitting down to being served our meal. We asked to change skinny fries to chunky chips and pay for these, but was informed "No as we portion each meal". We have been many times, but that was the last. Shame.

The food was really good, I had steak which was cooked well.. I had cheesecake for dessert which was my favourite part, loved it! Our waitress was lovely 😊 Overall I really enjoyed the evening.

Very good value for well-presented and well- prepared food. The staff are excellent. The set menu is particulary value-for-money. The restaurant has different offers depending on the day of the week.

Extremely disappointing meal. Very slow service. Waited 30 minutes between finishing starter, which was actually very tasty, although a bit meagre, and main being served. I had the roast pork which was very fatty and whole meal was lukewarm. Would not recommend.

Easy to book on line. excellent service- although waited a while to order. My husbands steak was cold when it arrived but it was no problem as it was returned and a fresh one cooked. Food gorgeous. Highly recommend.

Lovely as always. We are locals and normally come in for just cocktails on Fridays and at Christmas but meal on friday was really nice! - Beef wellington was amazing!

Cold food, terrible rude staff. Actually tried to argue with me when I refused to pay for cold starter that had elements missing too. Party next to us received great service and were even given free food as there was a delay in mains. We just had to wait. Nobody topped up our drinks all night either. Shame as the food was actually very tasty. Timings just seemed off.

Cold sunday roast with tough meat and 1 baby carrot and a 1 limp piece of brocolli. Highly dissapointed. Swearing from table opposite all in all not good

An outstanding meal let down by the quality of the lamb which was incredibly fatty making it very tough. Nothing wrong with a bit of fat but this was more fat than meat!
