It was the first visit for my husband and me. We liked the food. The variety of Sardinian wines offered was extensive. But it was the warm and personalised service that won us over. We'll be back for sure!

Food wasn't anything impressive, pasta a bit too aldente and buffalo was not great, service was really slow, can't really call it service.

Not welcoming - extremely slow service - got wrong order twice - under staffed - over priced - food was average and light on key ingredients - left after main course

Lovely olives and bread nice cosy ( but loud music playing ) interior. Slightly chewy pasta and rather sarcastic waitress who didn’t know the menu- disappointing as a much better experience last time which is why we returned

The restaurant was nice and the food good but not amazing. The wines were quite expensive, although the food was generally good value. The service was friendly but could be a bit more professional.

Great food and prompt service. Brilliant menu choices and variety. Pasta portions could be a bit larger for the cost.

Very bad value. Started with "music paper" bread which they clearly just put on a plate straight out of the packet - like eating dry crackers! They used to make from scratch or heat this with oil and rosemary and it was delicious, what a disappointment. My sea bass -- one piece alone on the plate for £24 -- was greasy and overdone and the accompanying rocket and parmesan salad was so salty I couldn't eat it. Pasta in a parmesan crust was beyond nasty - the crust was not done right and tasted like burned pan scrapings. My husband's rage sauce had about three shreds of meat and was watery. We won't be going back.

It was a pretty warm evening when we went to Isola del Sole and there weren't many patrons! The food is terrific but the service is still a little hit & miss albeit very friendly. It's a good job we weren't in any kind of hurry! It won't stop me going again but you should factor that in if you're hoping for a quick meal out!

The pasta was not sufficiently cooked. They tried to tell me that was because it was freshly made. I grew up in Italy and learned to cook there. I have eaten pasta of every kind and every permutation. This was dire. I will not be going agsin

Used to be fantastic. It was never cheap but at least the food was worth the expense. Food is now average. It is a shame.

One of my favourite restaurants in London, hands down! We shared the bruschettas as a starter and had homemade pasta, everything was great and flavourful, very thoughtful service and good value!

With warm efficient service, I would say that we had a good meal. I started with beef carpaccio, my partner tomato bruschetta, hard to get wrong. We both chose pasta to follow. I ordered the special, tagliatelle with asparagus and bottaga and my partner the pappardelle wild boar ragu, sorry to say very average.

Only 4 other poeple in. It was the waiter's 3rd day. One person in the kitchen. Food was OK - main course home made ravioli was not quite right. For the prices charged, not very good. Very long wait for dessert due to IT breakdown between front of house and kitchen - unbelievable that they didn't just talk to each other.

Dinner for 3, for a special occasion. We chose Isola Del Sole because we love Sardinian food and wine! We arrived and couldn't figure out how to get in, the door was boarded up and it looked a bit like an abandoned building. We looked through the window and saw that the tables were set so decided to try the handle, it was the entrance, maybe they should get it repaired or put a nice sign on it! We were the only customers as it was early but we were taken right to the back near the serving area. The majority of dishes on the menu is pasta! There were some specials. Without going into too much detail, the pasta is way overpriced for what it is, nothing special. I had the artichoke salad starter, although the flavour of the salad was nice, the artichoke had spiky bristly bits that were unpleasant to eat, I had to dissect it before being able to eat it! My husband had sourdough bruschetta with N’duja, one slice of bread with the n’duja smeared on as if it were jam! £7.25!! He found it difficult to cut up. We all had pasta mains and were not impressed with the flavour, taste or portion size, there was very little sauce on 2 of the dishes and the waiter was very skimpy with the parmesan cheese! We really liked our wine, a red, Erema Siddura! and I tasted my sons dessert, Tiramisu, it was excellent! Otherwise very disappointing outing! One of the staff members was overly attentive and said ‘as you wish’ way too much! It would seem that the emphasis is on the profit and not the customer or the food!

Basic menu but lots of daily specials. Unfortunately not on paper and too noisy to hear waitress reading them out! Hopeless. Poor wine list and very expensive. Wine we had at £29.45 (one of the cheapest) was awful . However food was good and the service was efficient.

Bit disappointing to be honest. The place was nice and it was busy so the atmosphere was good, but I thought the menu was a bit limited. When I looked on line I thought there would be more choice. We had one of the "special" starters, tomato and mozzarella with a bit of basil on top -- not sure what was special about that, so ordinary and my tomatoes were cold, straight out of the fridge, the pale watery English type, not much flavour! My main was tagliatelle with swordfish and tomatoes, again pretty ordinary, the fish was cut into very small cubes, which was a bit strange! And the smallest amount of bread and olive oil I've ever seen!

All very good, and food delicious, except for slight downer when we felt a minor off-piste request was over-charged

The couple we were with had been before and liked it a lot. Everyone’s food was extremely bland this time and my homemade pasta was a thick stodgy mess! We did ask about the chef and they said it was a new chef. They didn’t charge us for 1 main but frankly

Sadly it’s not great, at all. Expensive for the portion sizes and leaves the taste of feeling cheated out of your cash. Pasta with prawns and tomato - £17.50. Generous? No. 4 prawns mixed in amongst a scant amount of admittedly well made tagliatelle. It rather feels as though everything is calculated to the nth degree to put profit over and above the food. Personally I’d just go to the River Café. There, whilst expensive, the food warrants the prices and is generous. I don’t like giving negative feedback but this warrants it.

Unfortunately the restaurant did not have any Rose wine, a couple of the specials were finished by 8.30 despite being a quiet evening, no rocket salad and the chef went home early so a few desserts not available. Not great which is a shame as much of the food was good and there is great potential for a cosy specialist Italian in Putney.

We arrived at 8pm and the restaurant was empty, we were greeted by a very welcoming member of staff who let us pick our own table. We were read the specials of the day and we ordered the carpaccio for a starter and the tuna steaks each for our main. Whist browsing the very expensive wine list ( i would say that most of the wines listed range between £38 - £55 a bottle) the waiter came back to tell us that there was no tuna left, in an empty restaurant! He then said he would give us a main for free as compensation which we thought was a lovely gesture. I ordered the steak ( @ £25) and Em ordered the ravioli. My steak came with what looked & tasted like tinned mushrooms and super soggy spinach which was all very tasteless and the ravioli pasta was too thick, aldente with a poor filling. We had a tiramisu to share as a pud and got the bill. Our bill came to £85, 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 pud, 3 glasses of house red wine and a small bottle of San Pellegrino. As it turned out we got a starter ‘on the house’ not a main, for £85. It felt like the real chef was on a night off and they got a friend in who said he could cook. I’m really in favour of supporting local businesses like this but this evening was beyond poor and when there’s such amazing competition so close they really, really need to do better, much better.

A good varied menu. A delicious meal and great wine. Good service. A very enjoyable evening. Be sure to avoid booking a table by the door on a cold evening!
