The restaurant was quite good value and staff ok but didn't seem to have heard of certain drinks like J20. Would be good to have that drink

Hi, sadly we waited an hour for our drinks (beer and rose) and our starter came before the drinks. We were not even given enough cutlery or water glasses. The food was also not good and we were never asked if we wanted pudding. Will not be coming back. At one point the waiter tried to top our glasses up with the other table’s wine until we pointed out this wasn’t ours. Service was not good.

The pancakes I ordered had about 6/8 blueberries an 3 small very dry rashers if bacon, served with no butter either, very very dry and unsatisfactory especially st tht price 😢

We did request a table outside but this was not referred to which is a bit of a shame

Overall pleasant and enjoyable but our mains choice of veal was not available so that was a bit disappointing.

Overall it was a lovely meal for my husbands birthday. One thing to add is that we opted to remove the 'Optional gratuity' payment from the bill. This was not due to any poor service from our waitress but we would rather tip directly. The food was lovely and reasonably priced for 6 of us. The table was really cramped for 6 people and was there was a till/order station right behind us which meant every time one of the staff members updated an order etc.. they were right on top of one of our table literally. Also due to level of activity at the station we also had a glass smashed right behind us. An accident but highlights the space. In terms if food it was extremely tasty. We had a couple steaks that were ordered medium to well and when arrived ti table we were told medium rare so when questioned the waiter then changed his mind and stated sorry I meant medium fo well. They weren't medium to well and were more medium so a few bits of steak left as were very pink. Even though I have mentioned a couple bits that were not great our waitress was lovely, the food was delicious and reasonable priced. I would go back.

Why no vegan options? In fact no vegetarian options either. Total unwillingness to modify dishes to accommodate vegan. Quality of food has deteriorated significantly in the last 2 years and service was slow. Frankly, unless there is a dramatic turnaround Jackson & Rye will close in 2 years in Richmond because there are so many options and you need to be at the top of your game. Went to the newly refurbished Bill\s the next day,,,what a different experience. Vegan options, willing to adapt & also listen to customer needs, quick service and for us non-vegans lots of quality dished. Bills was good value for money.

Terrible service, order was wrong time and time again and service was soooo slow Food v mediocre overall I shan’t be going again

There was one good waiter but the waiting times were quite long despite booking and being on time. One waitress was quite abrupt when we asked to order drinks and food after being there 25 minutes. Have been yearly for the last three years but will choose somewhere else next year for our family rugby weekend.

Quick to be served, empty restaurant and with just four tables in use we was put with the other diners, quick to be served but took ages to get drinks, had to keep requesting for them, also food was not good value for the money, shared platter was not enough for one let alone two. Wont be visiting again.
