A delightfully quaint restaurant situated in the middle of Nottingham - a genuine hidden gem. The food was lovely, the wine was great and the service was friendly, welcoming and informative. I will certainly be returning to Le Mistral - am excellent find!

Good food, good service, great value for money, friendly atmosphere and nice wine selection. Starters were a good size. Too much bread on the cheese board and wine by the glass a little expensive are my only criticisms. I would return.

Great food, great staff and lovely feeing to the whole place. Loved our visit here. It was my dads birthday and so they threw in a glass in prosecco for him. Very friendly atmosphere. But above all food is so good. Brilliant menu and specials! Wines also very good!

Excellent meal & very friendly waitress ensured we were served promptly as we were having a pre theatre dinner. We will definitely return whenever we visit Nottingham again ....definitely one to recommend although we had a little difficulty finding it as we do not know Nottingham very well!

Enjoyed the food and atmosphere, each couple took advantage of the 2 main course and wine offer for £29, this proved good value, options to add to the offer were thoroughly explained.

Restaurant is a nice setting and ambiance, but food mediocre. 2 of us ordered slow roast pork with crispy skin. Meat was terribly tough and chewy, and skin was soggy soft. Could be a great little restaurant with a better chef. Menu was quite limited also

Great place for intimate dining. Beautiful food and attentive staff. Great choice, particularly enjoyed the fish dishes and the creme brulee. Nice to go to a little place tucked away from the main shopping area.

The meal was delicious. We ordered large bowls of mussels and delicious wine recommended by a waitress. Broth was delicious however the amount of bread we received (three slices of baguette) wasn't enough to actually finish our broth. However a really nice and friendly waitress brought us more. The service was really nice and it wasn't busy after 5 pm so me and my boyfriend could enjoy our conversation in peace.

The food was very good not too much but ideal for a lunch. Only one mistake which was a dirty wine glass. House wine was ok but as usual wine was expensive!! Service was fine not too over the top. restaurant is very cosy and relaxing.

Main course was delicious, lovely freshly cooked food. Dessert was a little disappointing though - it was from the specials board and was "pannacotta served with raspberry coulis and fresh fruits". The fresh fruits comprised of one raspberry and one blueberry - really??? At £5 a portion surely they can stretch to a little further than 2 tiny pieces of fruit if its on the board as fresh fruits. My friend had the tart au citron (lemon tart) and again I don't think they could have cut a slice any smaller!!!

Returned to this restaurant last weekend after a couple of years following a great meal last time. There is no comparison. My husband ordered pork loin with crispy crackling, dauphinoise potatoes and veg. The pork was really fatty, the crackling was greasy, fatty and limp, the potatoes were simply layers of potatoes cooked in a stock, the veg were over cooked. I ordered quiche, salad and saute potatoes. The quiche was 3 tiny slivers which were burnt so I sent it back. I then waited ten minutes for a replacement whilst my husband toyed with his food. This time the quiche had been microwaved - who does that??? The salad was leaves and 1 cherry tomato smothered in a gooey dressing, the supposedly saute potatoes were roasted, oiled new potatoes with so much salt they were inedible. We gave up and the waitress was really apologetic and didn't charge us for anything, even my glass of wine, as she was so embarrassed. The service from her was the only thing good about this whole meal and I'm actually staggered at how bad the food was. We eat out a lot and I can honestly say this was the worst food we've had for years.

Some delays and the duck breast was a bit tough, but apologies for the delays were made, and a small discount given, to be fair we didn't mention the duck, having already been given the discount. They said it would all be better in a couple of weeks.

Fantastic small authentic traditional French restaurant. Far from one of those standard 'chain's. We were looked after, fantastic service & food, even for cealliac! Only down side- it was very cold in there when eating.
