It’s always amazing and such great value for money. Well done La Mistral. We’ll keep coming back! Wonderful lunch outside in the sun, could have been in France. 😊
It has a very nice atmosphere the staff were all friendly and the food was good. The house wine was very nice and reasonably priced
Welcoming and warm atmosphere with pleasant and efficient staff. A good evening in attractive surroundings.
Staff is very friendly, nice little quirky restaurant and good standard of food, highly recommend
Have been meaning to try Le Mistral in Nottingham City Centre for ages, and when we finally got there one recent midweek evening we weren't disappointed, it is a very authentic French-style bistro. The four of us had the two "sharing platters" (Baked Herby Camembert and Meats/Fishes) between us as starters, followed by a crispy pork belly, a moules frites and two rabbit casseroles, each of which were delicious and plentiful. Regrettably we had little room left for desserts, but those on neighbouring tables looked great. Service was very well-paced, and attentive without being overly so. Our bill for food, house wine and a round of pre-meal drinks was about £25p.p. Probably the only downside is that the location is in a slightly rundown little courtyard just off the main shopping area, which would maybe discourage a casual drop-in customer from trying it; that would be your loss though!
Le Mistral is set in a quiet location within the city centre. We received a very warm welcome and were impressed with the menu. The food arrived in decent time, was hot, good quality and generous portions. I would recommend this restaurant if you are entertaining business clients and want somewhere to impress, rather than a chain restaurant. Also I would recommend as a romantic location for couples. I would also like to give thanks to the waitress, who was very friendly and smiled. It always adds to the ambience of a place.
Been before and decided to take my partner here again for a celebratory meal. This lovely little place never fails to impress. Beautiful restaurant decorated perfectly, the service was fantastic we were looked after all night and never left wanting for anything and the food is second to none. We both had the Moules Frites which is possibly the best meal I've eaten in my entire life followed by a lemon tart for me (best I've ever had) and a tart tatin for my partner (even though he insisted he wouldn't like it it's now a firm favourite). The best part though is how shocked we are when we receive the bill, three courses for two people and a bottle of wine and we were double checking to make sure they hasn't missed anything. You won't find the same quality for a better price anyway. Safe to say we always end up making up the difference with a 12-15% tip (well warranted). Would definitely recommend to anyone and will be going back myself as soon as possible.
Whenever I visit Nottingham (from Lincolnshire) we meet up at Le Mistral (Eldon Chambers) - always at lunchtime (have never been in the evening). The food is lovely as is the atmosphere. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. No hesitation at all in recommending this restaurant. Advise that you book though - on our last visit it wasn't too crowded but on the one occasion when I didn't book beforehand, we couldn't get a table and had to go somewhere else!
We were seated by the window downstairs, which was nice except when customers came in the door and we kept getting a blast of cold air from outside. Also, we were near the bar where the staff were mainly standing around, and felt that that there was quite a lot of activity and footfall around us. Another time, we would request to sit upstairs, or away from the door. However, the staff were extremely attentive and efficient and we never had to wait long to order or have the plates cleared, or to pay. The food was very good and tasted freshly cooked. The portions were not that large, but adequate. The dishes we had were very rich and creamy (Fricassee do Poulet, Linguine au Poulet et Chorizo) so we were glad we ordered extra vegetable portions as side dishes. The desserts were good, but we were surprised to be charged an extra £2 for a scoop of ice cream instead of the crème fraiche with one dessert. Overall we enjoyed the experience and will come again. Good value with the fixed price lunch.
What a fantastic night we had we were a little late but we were shown to our table with no fuss. Our waitress was the delightful Molly who was so friendly and really helpful we were given a free glass of bubbly it was the wife's birthday. We eat out slot and in our opinion this is the best restaurant in Nottingham .We weren't rushed to eat our meals the tables aren't on top of each other so you can hear what the people next to you are saying and the service was second to none and price wise very good .We recommend this lovely restaurant
