Food was good, so much I wanted to try! maybe bring the small chops first and waited a little to get seated and on dessert. Service was outstanding! Good recommendations and cocktails 👌🏾

My sevond time at Monika Despite visiting a super busy time our food was faultless, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great! Highly recommend and will be returning

The restaurant had a really lovely atmosphere and decor however we were kept waiting even though we had a reservation. Throughout the night the was a constant queue of people standing and waiting for quite a while to be seated. Looking around it seemed that the place may have been overbooked. The food itself was ok (overall 6/10) but a lot of the dishes were lukewarm. Our dessert was hard and overcooked so we had to send this back but they did remove it from our bill. If I were to go back and try the place again, I would go mid-week rather than a Friday night as they may be less busy and have more time to pay attention to the quality of the food served.

My friend and I visited on Saturday and were seated at a wobbly table. Although we were eventually moved, the service was poor overall, and the food was disappointing. The fish seemed undercooked, though the prawns, rice, and cocktails were good. The yam and plantain were dry, and the spring rolls tasted like they were frozen. The salad seemed pre-packaged, which was disappointing for the £85 price point. The staff could benefit from better training to be more attentive. Sade was the only staff member that displayed a level of professionalism expected. Overall, I wouldn’t return to this restaurant.

Lovely restaurant with authentic decor, food was absolutely amazing. The hostesses were always attentive and polite. The lighting in restaurant was a bit too dark the task lighting was not great so was very dark on our table.

We visited on the 18th January 2025, when we first arrived we was greeted by a lovely lady who explained how everything worked, I felt like once after we ordered & received our food we was left alone and there wasn’t really a service after that. If there had been a service from the time we got there to the time we left, we would’ve happily paid the service charge. What I would say is that the mac & cheese was really nice, I also had the Shrimp & Squid rice with added beef, I feel as if that the beef was just a bit too hard for me.

Lovely restaurant but the beef suya lacked flavour and the suya pepper wasn’t giving. No option for swallow and except some stuff on the menu to be unavailable

We had to wait too long for a table that we had pre-booked. The food itself was not bad. There was an insect crawling on the board used to serve. They had to replace that meal. The music was way too loud which ruined the dining experience.

Had a good time but there seems to be an infestation of small gnats at the table which was a bit off putting and we had to cover our drinks with napkins. Otherwise the food was good and vibe was great.

Great atmosphere although I booked in advance with my friend who required wheelchair access I was slightly disappointed that we were not properly accommodated and were seated in front of the front door and he was not able to access the toilet due to table setting. On a positive the food was out of this world and lived up to all the tik tok recommendations amazing amazing prawns and the staff were incredible great service and ambience joanne

It was a bit unwelcoming and food was dry. It was quite a busy night but the team could be more organised to get people seated.

Food was great, and the service that was provided was productive. The only objective I would suggest is having more toilets, which could also be separated from the women & men.

The restaurant has great food, service and atmosphere. We really enjoyed our meal and will be back soon

Customer service was great. The monika was dry and not flavourful or hot when served. It was a shame as we came based on reputation of 805. Jollof and plantain were good.

The giant tiger prawn and mussel platter was 10/10. Really good customer service. The food took a while to come out but the food is honestly worth it

The restaurant is good. The floor was a bit slippery. It would be good to include some nibbles at the table for free (chin-chin and plantain chips). A bottle of water for the table would also be good.
