The food and surroundings were lovely. The slow cooked beef blade the best main course I’ve had in a long time. However a side dish do not appear until half way after the main was eaten and the bill was overstated and had to be amended therefore they lost the tip.

We really enjoyed the food which was good value, tasty and expertly presented. Also we found the ambience relaxing and unusual in what was a former chapel.

Beautiful surroundings and superb food. Good range of menus for all diets. Shame the service was so slow considering there were only 8 people in the restaurant for the whole of the lunch period.

Good food and great service. Lovely table and very convenient location. Parking on the street is a real bonus. Obviously a popular choice as most tables were taken. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Food was amazing but service didn't quite match. A decent vegetarian/vegan menu but the staff were not aware which of their wines were vegan and didn't seem to be interested enough to find out.

Food was exceptional and great value. Service a little slow but probably due to how busy they were. Highly recommended. Definitely be going again very soon.

Lovely food. Menu options available for all tastes including special gluten free and Vegan. Vegetarian options available as standard. Did I say food was delicious. Service as you would like it, prompt but unobtrusive. Starters included a perfectly cooked poached egg with black pudding (hers) and scorched mackerel with horseradish cream (mine). Mains chicken confit cassouletish with roasted veg (hers) and fishcake, fishy and not boring, with pickled veg (mine). Finished off with Carpaccio pineapple + (hers) and Chocolate Pie with espresso/caramel sauce (mine). Couldn't ask for a nicer lunch.

Food was excellent quality, in a fantastic setting, will certainly be back, only comment is that the set menu could have had a couple of more dishes to choose from

The food was good but an hour plus wait for the first course unacceptable and thirty minutes for the second. The operations need major review.

A really enjoyable evening out. Food was absolutely delicious; we had the bread and olives first, followed by the chicken and pork pâté to start. Mains was the duck breast then the chocolate tart to finish. Our third time there and certainly not or last!

This is the third visit to Plates & Co and they do not fail to excel. Weston Cottage is our b&B and we send our guests to you and they love you too. The freshly cooked food is excellent and the staff are refreshingly polite and amiable. Thank you. Adrian & Rae Thomas

My husband and I enjoyed the delicious freshly cooked-to-order food at Plates. You could see how much effort has gone into each dish by the Chefs on view. We will definitely for there again.

The evening started out slowly, my partners Birthday treat, waiting 5 minutes for a table to be prepared although it had been booked earlier in the day. The restaurant wasn't full. f First course was fine, my main meal was not a pleasure to eat, a 1/3 of the steak being sinuous and inedible. On paying the bill I was asked, the one and only time, how the meal was. I informed the waitress of the steak, she basically shrugging her shoulders, not commenting and leaving it at that. would not rush back in a hurry.

the food was good, service wasn't, not because they weren't trying but because they clearly hadn't been trained, also it was very hot and for some reason they didn't have the air con on

Pleasant staff, food was good, the plates were very hot and we weren't made aware of this. Service quite slow, so if your out for a quick meal, probably not a good idea. Great surroundings, beautiful church windows

We ate a la carte. Nice surroundings and nice staff. The food was good from a smallish menu. The dessert had lovely flavours but the creme bruleè was an odd consistency and the chocolate panacotta was like icecream in the middle. £70 for the two of us and we don't drink was a bit pricey though...

Nice atmosphere, very pleasant staff with very polished glasses. We had the tasting menu which the chef took time to discuss with us and every course was delicious especially the beef. Each course was delivered personally by the chef which we also thought a nice touch. We will definitely be back.

Great ambience. Service a little slow but pleasant as we didn't feel rushed. Enjoyed the dinner but desert was a little frozen still. But I'm being picky, we would happily go again.

The venue is awesome, food was delicious and the service was friendly but we had to wait for about an hour for our main course. The waitress was aware and gave us a discount.
