been here before and never disappoints. really delicious food with resonable prices. Waiters are so friendly and always make everyone feel so welcome. the place has a brilliant lively atmosphere and feels authentically italian. one of my favourite places if not the favourite place to eat in glasgow
Great food and atmosphere. Small family ran restaurant with homely food.
Great food as usual, top class service, great atmosphere. Lovely stuff.
The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but soon filled up. The menu was very reasonably priced, especially for the quality of food we were served. The personnel were friendly and chatty and overall this was a great lunch experience. We'll be back!
When we arrived the owner took our coats and showed us to our table, it has a feel good ambience, full of conversations and laughter. The staff were great, very attentive and the owner was very available as he was also waiting tables. The food was unexpectedly excellent, (a small Italian restuarant in the suburbs I was resigned to mediocre, how wrong I was), my entire party remarked on the freshness and flavour. Couple this with the enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff and you have the recipe for a wonderfully relaxing and satisfying evening. It will not be the last time we visit, it has a big thumbs up from me.
We visited here as a family group one Saturday evening. Nice wee restaurant with a good atmosphere and very busy. For most of us the food was lovely however my son is gluten free & although they say gluten free pasta & pizza bases now available they are not really catering for gluten free. The choice was basically penne which came flooded in a Napoli sauce which looked like it was floating in tomato soup. For dessert his only choice was ice cream which he then couldn't eat as they'd stuck a wafer in the top. I don't think they have a clue about how serious cross contamination can be so unless they are properly trained & can cater for people who need to avoid gluten then I don't believe they should be staying that they can. Worth a visit as long as you don't have any food allergies I'd say
Great service from the second we walked through the door until we were leaving. The waiter that served us was able to provide guidance on a wine choice, which seems to be a somewhat rarer thing these days. The menu is amazing, there truly is an option to please everyone, and that includes the set menu. My food was absolutely amazing, the chef's did an amazing job. Brilliant atmosphere, the place was busy, and you can feel that in the atmosphere but it's not noisy in any way, it's just a very happy place to be.
The Battlefield Restaurant is a delightful dining experience. Excellent food is served by courteous and helpful staff in a most amenable setting. Highly recommended. The wine list was also good, including a nice aglianico.
i’ve Been going to Battlefield Rest since it opened in 1994. Even though I’m no longer local, it will always be my 1st choice Italian restaurant. The quality of the food has been consistently good throughout the years and is the benchmark for all other Italian restaurant should I fall off the wagon and frequent another.
In for lunchtime, great lunch menu £6.90 for a main and a drink, plenty of choice, I choose off menu and it was only an extra £2, the drinks were also pints of juice, food was great, decent portion sizes for the money. was really busy as well, would recommend you book.
