Took 2 kids 7 & 5 for the pre theatre menu - great service and respect for families eating out with kids! We were made feel very welcome. Gorgeous food and although very busy we were never made feel unwelcome.

First visit for a few months and was really looking forward to it, but was very disappointed. My starter of crostini funghi was delicious, but my main pasta course was lukewarm, verging on cold in places and had to be sent back. Crepe for dessert was great as always. Nothing impressive about any of the other half's dishes, so unlikely to go back any time soon.

My only negative comment would be the £2 for the small glass of coke we ordered. If it had at least been a can it wouldn't have been so bad.

We have been going regularly to the Battlefield Rest for many years. We are always delighted with the food and service and feel that it is good value.

Absolutely delicious and generous portions, lovely building (in an unusual location .... do not be fooled by that!) great service and good atmosphere ... highly recommend

Visited for lunch with my daughter. Nostalgic visit as I vaguely remember it when the trams were running. Food was excellent, service very good. One small issue, too many tables crammed together, felt quite claustrophobic. Lovely lunch and we will be back.

Amazing atmosphere with amazing staff !! Loved the food !

Was busy. Was sat next to an open door but it was draughty and was unable to take my jacket off.. Had salmon and smoked haddock fish cakes as my main course. At best it was tasteless served with baby watery roast? pots and a tired salad Disappointing. Prosecco was a reasonable price at £4.00 a glass. Ice cream was good. Service was OK. This was our first visit but don't know if I would come back.

Never ceases to disappoint. Food is beautiful and staff are lovely.

The service was really slow. The wine was rough (we ordered chianti and rose) and the linguine marinara was over loaded with saffron so it tasted like chemicals! The calzone was good though.

The service and food are always excellent here and the atmosphere is great mainly because there's lots of folk happily chatting. It's always busy but there really is no wait for drinks, ordering or food. A fabulous evening.
