Great food as always and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were attentive and helpful in asking the chef to vary ingredients for my friend’s dietary requirements.

Superb food with friendly efficient staff. Had dinner last night (Saturday) and although the restaurant was very busy the staff were quick and efficient. Food was excellent with the servings an excellent size.

Fantastic restaurant. Always busy - great atmosphere and amazing food. Menu is very broad. Beautiful and unique space in Glasgow's southside. The bruschetta is wonderful!

In for lunchtime, great lunch menu £6.90 for a main and a drink, plenty of choice, I choose off menu and it was only an extra £2, the drinks were also pints of juice, food was great, decent portion sizes for the money. was really busy as well, would recommend you book.

Excellent service and absolutely fantastic food. We went on a Friday night, the place was very busy but we had no long waits on anything. I thoroughly recommend the Battlefield Calzone!

Great food and great service. As usual the Battlefield does not disappoint. Had a lovely pre theatre from their extensive menu. Could not fault it.

Old style Italian. Solid cooking with good quality ingredients. Quirky decor. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Would definately return. Risotto, Meatballs, Minestrone all good! Friday night was super busy.

Food and service good. Check your bill, as mine had an error. Espresso good, but on an earlier visit a flat white was disappointing, as just tasted of hot milk.

Beautiful food and friendly staff, I will definately be back. Only faults is that it is a bit crammed, too many tables for the size of the building and would be good if Strongbow cider was on the drinks menu.

The Rest is a smashing restaurant and we feel so lucky to have such a place on our doorstep. What an excellent meal we enjoyed! Fantastic food and great service. Never disappoints! We'll be back again soon, no doubt.

Attentive, friendly service, authentic Italian cuisine cooking and ambience, with a Glasgow spin. The continuity of staffing throughout the restaurant's history, speaks volumes. Easily reached by public transport.

Fantastic food great service and a lovely informal atmosphere. Somewhere I’ll always come back to when back in Glasgow. A firm favourite with the rest of my family ( they are local and don’t need 5 hours to get there) . Try here and you won’t be disappointed.

When we arrived the owner took our coats and showed us to our table, it has a feel good ambience, full of conversations and laughter.The staff were great, very attentive and the owner was very available as he was also waiting tables. The food was unexpectedly excellent, (a small Italian restuarant in the suburbs I was resigned to mediocre, how wrong I was), my entire party remarked on the freshness and flavour. Couple this with the enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff and you have the recipe for a wonderfully relaxing and satisfying evening. It will not be the last time we visit, it has a big thumbs up from me.

The food was excellent and the service good . The only downside is that the tables are crammed close together with virtually no space between them. It’s a shame because it detracts from an otherwise great restaurant.

Cosy atmosphere, great service, food delicious. We had the special Christmas menu and were amazed and delighted with the different options available. 3 courses for £16!!! Definitely going back for seconds!!!

Very nice pre Christmas lunch with a friend this afternoon. Haggis polpette starter followed by Turkey. Both delicious. Fast and efficient service. Free parking across the road. Perfect start to the festivities.

Great Italian Restaurant! I had the Christmas menu at lunchtime. Great value and superb food. It is a gem and worth trying. Service was efficient and very friendly.

Amazing food and great service. My only complaint was table we were given is normally for 2 people. It was a bit of a squeeze for 4 people!

We had previously visited the Battlefield Rest to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. Our return visit didn’t disappoint. Lovely food, cosy restaurant, prompt service and surprisingly easy parking!

An attractive, colourful restaurant almost as colourful as the serving staff, who were a delight and who seemed happy to exchange banter with the customers. The food is Italian and flavourful, though I think the Torte needs a rethink!
