We were sat out the back of restaurant with a severe draft coming up stairs from the cellar. We asked if we could move and the male waiter was happy to accommodate this and even moved the electric fire nearer to us too. Service was fabulous, food was delicious. Will definitely return.

The food was good, not as good as the last visit but certainly well worth a review. The staff were excellent as usual.

This was our first visit to the chancel , our main choice was good , the Manhattan dessert was delicious . Waitress was efficient. Slightly disappointed with our table it was wobbly, the top of the table was very sticky and we were seated quite close to toilet entrance . Out experience was good and we would visit the chancel again .

Food excellent. Hygiene excellent. Definitely recommend using restaurant. Clients social distancing taken into consideration. Will definitely be recommending to friends.

All four of us enjoyed an early pre theatre supper . Friendly and efficient staff , delicious food & wine . Prompt service meant we weren’t rushed .

New to the Chancel is their Sunday roast dinners. Was not disappointed, it was really tasty. Lots of veg and great variety. The vegetarian version was also outstanding. Would recommend. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely afternoon. X

We ordered omelettes. What we had was switched up egg with the appropriate fillings simply fried and folded over. Not a fluffy omelette although tasty enough. We've eaten omelettes before in the Chancel and enjoyed them much more. Perhaps a change of chef.

Overall a very good experience. Downside the seating was not very comfortable.

Good meal, very good service and friendly efficient staff. Definitely recommend the Seafood Platter (if you are hungry!)

Everything about the Chancel was very good, there is a relaxed atmosphere, staff very friendly, the young lady who took our order, was very professional, explained the menu and answered our questions. Food was all cook to perfection, portion sizes are quite generous. Will be visiting again. Thank you all for a wonderful experience at the Chancel

Absolutely incredible experience today, thank you very much. We were given a groupon voucher for 6 tapas to share, we added a side of chips and almost couldn’t finish it all! The teriyaki belly pork was a firm favourite but we also enjoyed each dish- garlic butter prawns, calamari, honey chorizo, honey and lemon chicken & patas bravas! Thank you so much for a lovely experience, we will definitely be back!
