The Great Kathmandu Tandoori

We had a very enjoyable evening on our sons Birthday. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and even produced a cake with candles when they realised it was a Birthday celebration. We will certainly be visiting again.

Terrible service,waited 45 mins for a drink ? Then over an hour before our orders were taken by a very arrogant waiter? Food was OK,when it arrived after being in there 2 hrs . My honest opinion is KATMAN-DONT! Really sorry but it's the truth.

A lot of the older male staff appear a bit grumpy and just look bored. I wish that all Indian restaurants would attempt to be a bit healthier and include more vegetables in their dishes as they all tend to be just chunks of meat in lots of tastey sauce.

Had heard a lot about this place and was looking forward to some really good food. The poppadoms were excellent but it went down hill from there. We had the lamb chops for starters which were overcooked and tough and the chicken starter was also dry and over cooked. The mains came and the Lamb bhoona was tough as old boots. Overall very disappointed

It's always a pleasure eating at Khatmandu. The food is amazing, good value and the staff are very nice. I would recommend it to anyone.

Three of us enjoyed lunch at the Katmandoo Tandoori Restaurant today. The food and the service were excellent and it was great value for money.

Came here for a valentines meal with my girlfriend, was very happy with everything from the excellent food to the great service we would highly recommend. And we will be back soon.

This is obviously a busy and popular restaurant. On the night we went they had a chef missing and the service was very slow. The manager came over to apologise and handled the situation very well. The food was good rather than outstanding and the portions were rather over facing.

Great service great food for a great price. Great great great! Did I mention great? Seriously though gem of a place in the heart of didsbury. Will be a regular from now on

No idea what the hype is all about, terrible service throughout. The food was mediocre like the staff and I will certainly not be returning.

The food was absolutely amazing.... as always! They really are a cut above. Fine ingredients, perfectly cooked, wonderful flavour balances. Good sized portions as well. We went for a prawn and fish special, lamb handi and tandoori chicken shak-shu-na, as well as various sides. This is my third visit and there are very few restaurants that deliver such consistent high standards. Shame the service was a little bit slow, clumsy and disjointed. It was 8pm on the Saturday of Valentine's Day week, so understandably they were mega-busy. Staff were clearly working hard and I'm not sure an additional member of staff would have helped (quite tightly packed in the dining area). Just one if those things... small blot, but definitely a positive experience all things considered.

We go here on a regular basis and never had to complain about the food service or anything else-it is excellent and if it wasn't we wouldn't keep coming back! Better than going into Rusholme

Always a great experience to dine at this restaurant. Great food, good staff and excellent atmosphere. I strongly recommend this place for a great curry meal.

Probably the best Indian restraint in Manchester. Nepalese food, spicy and different, good service by largely Nepalese staff. Try the Katmandu chicken and the Bhutan ghost. Nan bread is superb. Only nitpick are the popadoms which are spicy and small compared to the usual Manchester doorstops. It is the business and rightly popular

Good options for vegans and celiac. Food was really tasty and had a really good time All in all thanks to staff and food. Great stuff

It was very busy so we had to have a table upstairs in the private room area which wasn't as nice as the main restaurant. Service was a little slow but staff were great. We will go again!

Great food. Best popadoms in Manchester. Tikka masala has a kick for what's normally a mild dish but still amazing and great sized portions. Would recommend

friendly staff. tasty authentic food. had makhan chicken. haven't been to the restaurant in 20 years (it had moved a few shops down!), but not disappointed. little bit slow on some service though e.g. checking my friend had cutlery (even after I suggested they lay a space for him!) and attending to the hotplate candles (which went out). would go again though.

Great meal and incredible value for money. There is plenty of variety on the menu and they also offer children's portions.

Gorgeous food, lovely service. We were there to celebrate a birthday and the staff arrived at the end with a surprise cake that we didn't ask for which was very lovely.
