Food is fabulous and atmosphere friendly and relaxing can't recommend highly enough

Our first visit to this gem of an Italian restaurant. Initially puzzled as the address was 728 Holloway Road, until it became obvious that 500 referred to the iconic Fiat car. Ambience welcoming, and elegant. Food delicious, and the strangers at the neighbouring table proved delightful company. Mario chef and Giorgio maitre de had honed their skills in the family restaurant in Charlotte Street. Well worth a detour. Archway no longer a culinary back water.

Always great food. The menu choices seemed fewer, but there was still lots of choice. It’s a very reliable local restaurant, offering delicious Sicilian food and good service. Can’t wait to go again.

Always excellent. From a decor point of view it is a bit hard edged which reflects noise but a minor quibble compared with the great food and service.

What a real gem this place is. All of our courses were delicious, my rabbit dish was particularly good and so tender. Really nice staff coupled with great food at a good price made for a lovely catch up evening with friends. Recommended

Another great meal at what must be one of the best Italian restaurants in London. No pizzas here! Beautifully prepared dishes especially fish and home made pasta. Reasonable prices too.

What a place! From the warm welcome to the friendly farewell, our dining experience exceeded all expectations. The cooking at ‘500’ is imaginative, dishes varied and extremely well done, reflecting seasonal ingredients. We counted ourselves very lucky to get white truffles, a rare treat. I cannot praise 500 enough! The service was friendly. The food outstanding and the quality and cost exceptional. Writing a review like this will probably make it more difficult to get a booking but in times like these laces of substance should get the punters deserve and for 500 that should be at their tables!

500 is an exceptional restaurant with wonderful food , wine and a relaxed atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble and the love and pride of their food and service comes through all the time . Archway is so lucky to have this restaurant and I will continue to travel from South West London to enjoy an evening here with friends .

It was not my first visit to Cinquecento I really like their food and service Everything was good and according to new Covid-19 laws every table was 2 metres distant from the others I recommend a visit

Really enjoyed my visit, on 5 July 2020, for lunch. The restaurant had reopened the previous day after the Covid 19 lockdown. Everywhere was clean, good spacing between tables etc. The food was really good: lovely smoky nduja on bruschetta for the cicchetti, and tremendously fresh prawn, pistachio and pesto tagliatelle. Grazie!

My companion and I were the restaurant's first customers after lockdown and I was very excited as on my previous visit I had experienced some memorable dishes. Not so this time. We went for lunch and both had the fried vegetables and fish for starters. The veg and the calamari were good but the langoustine were frozen not fresh as advertised and over-cooked - a problem also evident with the rabbit main. It had been pre-cooked so was dry when served after another cooking in the frying pan. My gnocci starter with black truffle was glorious but my friends ravioli was very under-cooked. Overall a disappointing experience, not helped by my nervousness at a lack of PPE equipment being worn by the staff. A hand santiser at the entrance would also have helped in the 'confidence' stakes. Of course we mentioned our thoughts on the food to the chef and he said he would take them on board for the evening sittings. I hope he did!!
