A lovely little eatery in the back streets of Leith, next to Teuchters' Landing. Four of us dined; the fish and chips were excellent, the moules gorgeous and my fish pie was well up to par. And a nice Chenin blanc. Can't think why we don't go there more often.

We where welcomed by a very plesent member of staff, a very tasty meal, my mother in law said it’s the best meal she has had in ages dinning out. The only downside was that it was rather cold & my mum & 89yr old Grannie had to keep their coats on. But I’m sure I’ll e back as there was so much on the menu that looked delicious 😀

1st visit Sunday Lunch, excellent food and great service, corner table for two and they were happy for us to split the starter.

The food and drinks were lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. However on this occasion the atmosphere felt a little chaotic and we were left waiting a long time to pay the bill once the table had been cleared. We noticed other diners waiting as well and struggling to get the staff’s attention. We were told the restaurant had been over booked so perhaps this was a one off. A bit of a shame as everything else was great.

Delicious food and lovely service. The smoked mackeral pate was brilliant the the meat/game platter a carnivore’s delight.

Great food and great atmosphere, as usual. Easily the best fish and chips in Edinburgh! Cullen skink was incredibly tasty and rich and although we didn't get game on this occasion, I can guarantee from previous experience that it is great as well. Considering all of this, the prices are reasonable. A+!

Great food & great service. Best haggis bonbons ever, & best venison loin. Cooked to perfection. Puddings to die for. Wine perfect complement. Blue cheese requested, cheddar delivered- would have preferred an apology rather than a ‘chef says he put blue cheese on’...

This was my first visit to A Room in Leith for a while, and things had changed since my last visit. There was no set menu which we had previously enjoyed on many occasions, and it was no longer possible to BYOB. We all opted for main courses as we didn't really fancy the starters. Two members of the party had mussels which were fine, and the third the venison (delicious). It was a huge portion of mussels, so we didn't bother with deserts. A Room in Leith has always provided solid, reliable menus, with friendly staff, and we enjoyed our visit despite the restaurant being very quiet (though most places are early in January). It was nice to see the restaurant showcasing Scottish fare (game and seafood) so it won't be our last visit.

A family favourite , consistently good across multiple visits . Took friends from the USA and they were very impressed by the seafood platter .

Booked to eat here on the first night of our stay and we weren't disappointed. Fantastic choice for everyone on the menu. Friendly staff, water was topped up as soon as required. Food was wonderful, full of flavour and good wine choice too. We'll definitely recommend and return too! Thank you!

A Room in Leith was brilliant - amazing food, lovely atmosphere, couldn’t recommend it more. The Game and Meat platter was absolutely gorgeous and enormous!

I have been before but my two friends had not and they loved it. Delicious food (we have an oyster convert) and great service. Eric was a delight.

Great Sunday lunch with very helpful and friendly staff. Portions were very large especially the wee fish and chips. I can’t imagine the size of a normal portion!

Perfect meal. 10/10 food and service. A wee gem in Leith. Something on the menu for all tastes. Looking forward to next visit hopefully soon.

Early Sunday lunch. Restaurant was very quiet. Service excellent. Food good but Fish Pie was very salty. I recommend the Game Pie. We would all go back again.
