Can't fault the place- good service, nice atmosphere and great food! There were 4 of us and we each had 3 courses- all delicious! I recommend the butternut squash soup and bean cassoulet (I'm vegetarian ). We will be going back!

Food good but clearly the restaurant is understaffed because we were ignored for long periods and had to wait ages for someone to come and take our dessert order

We had a very good meal here, well cooked and interesting food for a very reasonable price. A good choice of drinks, including wine by the glass and several Scottish gins. We arrived early on a Thursday evening (about 6.15) and were the only diners throughout our meal. When we asked we were told that Thursday is a 'hit and miss' day for custom. So if you like more people around you when you eat perhaps another night would be better. However the quiet atmosphere suited us. Overall a very positive experience

We were a group of eight and the table was well set and the welcome by the manager and staff was faultless! Add the excellent food and service which made a very nice dining experience. The Room in Leith is one of my favourite restaurants!

We had a nice family meal today. The choices were good, the mussels were enjoyed by my son and the meat platter was enjoyed by my father and other son. The rest of the dishes were nice, not "wow" but pleasant.

Food mostly good, the service shocking. Didn't get offered dessert, clearly the staff wanted to go home early. Very disappointed, it's usually better than that.

Staff were great and attentive without being over powering. Food was outstanding bring your appetites though as you get loads especially the sharing platters......don't need a starter thats for sure! Absolutely loved the whole experience a great place to take friends, if you've not been definitely put it on your list of Must Do's!

Very enjoyable dinner; well cooked, presented and served. We all enjoyed our evening and the ambience was good. A Scottish win at Murrayfield made it all the better!

Excellent menu and service. Nice atmosphere, not overly formal or relaxed. Sea bass a little overdone, would have been nice if platters were available on dinner menu

Lovely restaurant very original and different. Unfortunately we were sitting for over 30 minutes before we were offered drinks and that was only because we summoned one of the waiting staff so perhaps we could have waited longer if we had not asked a waiter to serve us. We eventually received our drinks and then it was a further 30 minutes before our food arrived. Service very slow but the staff were delightful. Food delicious and hot when it did arrive. We opted for the 2 course set menu of steaks and dessert and this was very good value and very tasty. Would I return? Yes I would and would I recommend this venue yes I would.

We were booked to have our anniversary meal and were not let down by the food which was amazing! Really good quality and great price. However the service was very mediocre and after waiting an age for dessert menus, the table next to us who were served after us got theirs first. Then came the battle to get noticed for the bill. Once the bill came we sat for another 20 minutes expecting someone to come to us; we eventually gave up and went to the still where the three waitresses were having a chat. I stood for 5 minutes and not one of them acknowledged me. Poor show which affected the rating of have given. Shame as the food as stated was amazing.

Really good food and reasonably priced. Excellent drinks list as well, they had some amazing gins on offer. Slightly questionable music playing, but that is down to taste. Would highly recommend this place

Good quality food. Good friendly professional service. Good location. Bottle of wine not overpriced either. Really nice gesture of free tap water served in a glass bottle and refreshed without asking. The only negative was the Ladies loo not great. Needs checked regularly I would say. Despite that we would definitely go back.

Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday lunchtime. Good value and interesting menu. Delicious mussels. Excellent cullen skink, very filling. Wine was reasonably priced. Service was excellent. The flat white was the only disappointment - it was a latte or maybe a cappucino, but definitely not a flat white.

A Room in Leith was absolutely superb!!! We arrived 15 mins late, and needed to leave again in 1 hour 30 mins to make a show - staff did an amazing job of keeping us to our schedule without being rushed at all. Staff were brilliant, Manager has excellent customer service skills in his meet and greet. Food was just brilliant, and very well priced. BYOB is a bonus. THANK YOU a Room in Leith - we had an excellent evening.

Good service, including catering for the toddler in our party with a continuing supply of teaspoons - thank you. Lovely food with the exceptions of my mussels which were over-cooked and in a rather watery and tasteless sauce and included three which hadn't opened.
