A lovely relaxing atmosphere with excellent service from friendly waiting staff. The food certainly lived up to its amazing reputation and I will certainly visit again.

A smile as we entered was enough to know it was going to be a great evening. The staff were always attentive and happy to explain the dishes and the food and drink were excellent. Already planning our next visit. What a gem

Food and service excellent. The menu choice is comprehensive and varied. Prices are reasonable for this part of Leith. Our party all had a fantastic time. Would definitely recommend.

Wholesome Scottish comfort food, fantastic mix of fish, seafood, meat & game and local cheeses. Beer selection slightly lacking. Definitely be back soon. Friendly & welcoming.

It was a cold night so to be welcomed with a cosy fire was a good start. The service was very good and bread was brought to the table. Our group ordered the fish pie and the game pie. All 3 guests thought the fish pie was delicious and very filling. Unfortunately the 2 game pies, although very tasty, were undercooked with tough meat and the pastry too thin and partly burnt. They were taken off the bill, so the restaurant were apologetic.

This is the first time we had been back to A Room in Leith since they changed to a Seafood and Game Restaurant. We had the Seafood Platter with the Blackpudding Scotch Egg And Warm Pigeon and Beetroot Salad. We were not disappointed - food still as delicious as ever. They have taken the favourites from the old menu and made them better. Service still A+ also.

Seafood platter was fabulous as was the game platter! Perfect for sharing! Will definitely come back again! Staff were very friendly too. A great place!

Outstanding! The surf and turf platter combo was an abundance of food and flavors. Charming spot that felt comfortable and inviting. Put this place on your “go-to” list. You won’t regret it!

Really nice food, nice environments and friendly service from the waitress. The steak wasn’t worth £25 but the fish pie and scotch egg were lovely.

Excellent service and quality of food very good. Delicious fish pie accompanied by fresh al dente asparagus. Starter were back pudding scotch egg with runny till, perfection.

Informal and comfortable setting. Great service and the food was much enjoyed by all. A real delight for my gluten free wife whom enjoyed fish and chips in batter for the first time in a decade. Wine was at just the right temperature too!

Excellent Oysters and a martini to start. The scallops with crab and smoked haddock risotto was delicious, and the ice cream DIVINE (whisky and ginger) Just great

We took foreign visitors who loved the Great Scottish food here. Some dishes can seem a bit pricey, but quality is unbeatabke. Quantities are huge, so don't the over-orders on side dishes. We are definitely repeat customers.

Very attentive service and the food was fabulous. They helped us get a taxi with no worries as it our first time Edinburgh and we were new to everything. The restaurant was recommended to us by my colleague at work who had recently visited Edinburgh. We are from Yorkshire

4 of us enjoyed a nice meal at A Room in Leith with good food but the portions are over-generous so all of us left some food on our plates, which is rather a waste. The service was good but the restaurant lacks atmosphere, and I preferred their previous location at the back of Teuchters' Landing - this had a real buzz and vibe to it and an outlook onto the water of leith which you can't see from the new location, unless you're seated in the outdoors area.

Good food good service .Will definitely be back Very busy place.Plenty seating outside and in .prices quite reasonable .No dessert menu but then that saves you calories!

We were able to reserve a table outside to make the most of the amazing weather and the food was beautiful. The service could have been a little faster, but everybody were very friendly.

Nice staff who were friendly. Ambience was ok but nothing great. The running theme that made the experience "meh" was salt or lack of it. Whiskey sauce for steak was bitter and lacked seasoning. Mushrooms lacked salt. Not sure if this was on purpose to balance seasoned meat. Scallops were not seasoned and overcooked. Again not sure if on pupose given well seasoned rissoto. Either way...a disappointment.

Very good overall but did take a while for food to arrive despite being relatively quiet. Food was of good quality however and a nice menu.

Great meal. The food was good and piping hot lovely menu Didn’t spoil the evening but they no longer do BYOB. Prices were fair. All in all a lovely evening.

I've kept coming back to the "A Room In" chain for 20 years - the food is always delicious, the atmosphere relaxed. The menu is not extensive, but it changes regularly, and even as a vegetarian the options are so good it the lack of choice has never been a problem. This time I was taking some visitors from Austin, so it was good to have a place with distinctively Scottish cooking and drinks. They were delighted with it. The only reason I haven't given this a 6 was that service was a bit slow.

Excellent service and excellent food in such a lovely location! We have really enjoyed everything here and we'll come back next time we'll travel here again!

I have not been to this restaurant for a while... OMG... what a nice transformation.! Subtle improvements in tables and chairs and the décor. Wonderful. The food....AMAZING as always. The sharing platters are to die for! Service was fantastic...great staff.

A room in leith is a stunning little restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful, it wasn’t too formal but the food was exceptional. Especially the seafood and game platters! Amazing!

Fantastic food. Nice ambience.We had the kullen skink, the monk fish and salmon skewers salad and the scallop risotto. All of them fantastic. Highly recommend

Restaurant has just had a make over and very nice. Menu has changed, was not overly impressed with the choice. All our meals very tasty. Restaurant is no longer a byob which makes evening quite pricey. Probably won't go back.

Although generally the food and services is good. Saturdays lunch was excellent and we had a fabulous time. Unfortunately the Rugby result was disappointing Graeme

Excellent food and atmosphere. My Canadian friends were most impressed! This is a fantastic place to entertain visitors from aboard so they may try traditional Scottish food at its best!

Fantastic food both in flavour and quantity. Attentive staff, speedy service and value for money. No hesitation in recommending or visiting again as if the fish platter is as good as the meat platter then I will be visiting every time I am in the area.

Been to this restaurant a few times now and as usual the standard of the food and the staff was outstanding. I will be going back in the future and would recommend it to anyone for a pleasant dining experience.

The food was delicious and really good value for money - less than £20 for 3 courses for lunch. There were 6 of us in our party and we were all taken good care of , the staff were brilliant.

Excellent location, food and service. I’m returning for a 40th celebration next month and know that I will be more than pleased with my experience. It may even become my go to place in the future.
