Casa Mexicana

Had a fantastic meal at Casa Mexicana, great food, lovely atmosphere and friendly service. Definitely plan to visit more regularly in future. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

The food and service was amazing. But I would say both food and especially drinks are overpriced. I would order maybe one main between two and see if that suits you because you do get a lot of food and can always order more.

We went here as a couple recently and had some amazing food and drink in a really nice, comfortable setting! Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Mexican food as we found it to be one of the best.

I have been to this restaurant few times and I always find the food excellent and very friendly staff would recommend this restaurant very highly will keep going back there.

The calamari is to die for. Crispy but soft inside. All te food is well cooked and delicious. staff are friendly and,attentive. One of our favorite restaurants

Very authentic Mexican restaurant, high standard of food, huge portions, welcoming atmosphere and lovely staff. Highly recommended. Not surprised to learn it was established in 1986 and is still going strong. Many thanks!

We received excellent, fast and polite service. The food was incredible and really good portion sizes. Overall very enjoyable experience and a very good evening

Prawn starter nothing to clean fingers with. Prawns over cooked and pretty tasteless. Steak was ok but partially raw not medium rare and I had to ask for a steak knife. Fajita was good apart from the guacamole which was sour & bitter. Tables for 2 are not big enough for plates so very cramped when dining. Disappointed, not been for a couple of years and it used to be amazing. Also partner’s birthday and 2 other tables birthday people given shots but he wasn’t offered.

The food was amazing, with a real vibrant atmosphere. Chocolate piped churros- so yummy! Already booked for our second trip with another bunch of friends!

We had a lovely meal every mouthful was so full of flavour. The welcome from the waitress was really good, she explained what items were on the menu that we were unsure of to ensure we enjoyed it. Will def go back can’t wait to try more things on the menu.

Good food and good service, maybe a bit expensive for what it was but would recommend. Was nice to sit outside on a Sunday evening, might have been a bit close to the road if it was a busier night but that was our choice. Would go again

Food great, environment nice but seats and tables very small in places. Staff were friendly but seemed a bit chaotic at times with nobody really in charge it seemed.

Always superb! Great waitress as well, really looked after as and deserved the great tip she got. Would recommend if you have not been here before.

Casa Mexicana was a great find for me. lovely food, nice location, staff were friendly, kind and helpful. i am already planning my next trip and look forward to trying out more of the delicious meals. my meat literally fell off the fork and im picky with chicken as i hate it dry. nice. thanks for a lovely evening guys. see you again soon

We went to celebrate a birthday and the selection of food was great as were the margaritas! They had a vegan/Vegetarian menu too (just ask for it👍🏾). The portions are large so don’t expect to finish a starter and a main...unless you haven’t eaten all day. Seating was a little too close for my liking but as it was Tuesday, it wasn’t fully booked. I will definitely return.

We had a very pleasant evening at Casa Mexicana. We haven't graded it higher than a 4 because we felt the service of the main meal itself was a little slow and we generally felt the food lacked some the freshness and taste that we have experienced at other Mexican restaurants. For example, we found the guacamole a little disappointing. However, the helpings were a good size.

Awesome vegan menu and cocktails! We went on a busy evening, but it was all worth the wait. I highly recommend the vegan nachos, vegan enchiladas and vegan chocolate and banana chimichangas (with vanilla ‘ice cream’. My boyfriend and I shared the starter and pudding. The portions are quite large! Hint: Loose clothing around the tummy region could save your life. :o)

Four of us sat outside on a lovely evening to enjoy Margaritas with Nachos followed by Fajitas and wine. The ambience was complimented by the tasty and ample food portions and friendly and efficient service. An enjoyable place to dine

Lovely atmosphere, great food. Service was attentive without being rushed. We first went here 18 years ago on one of our first dates. This is the first time back in many years - it did not disappoint!

Excellent service...excellent food...one of the best restaurants in the city. Absolutely wonderful menu...superb Mojitos and by far the best eating experience in Bristol with happy and helpful staff who make the whole evening a joy to behold. First class in every department.

We went to Casa Mexicana for some good, authentic margaritas and mexican food. On the latter they delivered - food was delicious. The margaritas however were lacking a bit. Not very big, no ice. They were tasty, but after the one we decided to opt for beer. Another big let down was the service. While the staff were friendly enough they just took far too long for everything, and we had to remind them a few times about things that they'd forgotten to bring out. If the service was better that would have made a real difference in my rating.

Excellent starters in quality and quantity. Good choice of beers and also decent selection of wine by the glass. Main course was luck of the draw. Wife's lamb shank was excellent, my steak was a sorry disgrace that had to be returned as it was inedible due to being riddled with fat and gristle. Replacement was significantly better but in their haste it ended up well done rather than the medium I ordered. Waiting staff handled it well - kitchen could have done better. We were given complementary coffees at the end as a result. Ambience and music good and the steak was probably a rare occurrence so I would return but might stick with the more obvious mexican dishes next time.

Tasty well cooked food to tantalise the tastebuds and reasonably priced! Lovely homely atmosphere though unsurprisingly noisy for a Saturday night meal. Great knowledgeable service Will definitely come again and would recommend:)

We visited on a really warm day and got to sit outside. Service was exceptional, the staff were friendly and welcoming and chatty and basically perfect. Food was lovely, really tasty and everything was exactly as I’d hoped. I’d been wanting to try here for a while and my expectations were wholly met!

Great quesadillas, and the service was very good considering how busy they were (a good sign in itself). My wife is American, and she liked the food too - high praise indeed given that the #1 complaint American expats usually have about Britain is the lack of decent Mexican food.
