We had a great time with good surroundings and great food and wine accompanied by smooth service
Always a nice atmosphere at Côte Barnes. Lunch is spectacularly good value and the service is friendly and efficient. Give it a try, you will be glad you did.
A great evening with a good selection of quality food and drinks backed up by efficient service and a lovely environment with comfortable seating options
Very pleasant food in comfortable surroundings and good slick service. Good value too for the quality. A small point but my vegetarian guest would have liked to see alternatives to soya milk eg Oat milk etc for her coffee
The food was interesting and nicely presented, the staff were efficient and friendly. It was a great place for lunch on Sunday and I wold certainly go again
First time in this Cote and it did n't disappoint, except one of us wanted Creme Caramel which was on the special menu, but it was n't available, but apart from that it was all very good. I look forward to returning, as my two fellow diners live quite closeby.
This restaurant was great for my grandson’s birthday and I would recommend it to my friends. When we ordered pudding, the waiters sang happy birthday to my grandson while serving the pudding with a candle. The food was good with excellent french fries served on the side. Overall I would come again to Cote.
Best Cote yet ! Service excellent and waiters delightful Food well presented and served on hot plates and every dish delicious Will be returning often
Very pleasant, attentive service on a particularly busy (Friday) night. Main dishes arrived lukewarm.. Were promptly replaced and no charge was made for our bottle of wine. Quality of food and wine was very good. Will definitely return.
We had a Friday friends lunch from the set menu. Absolutely delicious, amazing value and great service. The hake was particuarly good and perfect seasonal fayre.Thank you.
A Pleasant Venue for a Birthday Lunch. We were a party of 7 and were given a good area to sit in overlooking Barnes Pond.
I had an upset stomach from the soup after the lunch. Ambience is very nice, beautiful setting. Staff not overly attentive. Overall it was disappointing
Good ambiance, delicious food and charming helpful staff. Thank you. My son paid the bill as it was my birthday supper in your restaurant was a perfect end to the day.
Poor service. Not at all well managed and the staff were uninterested in looking after customers. They even tried to over charge for more wine than we had. The manager needs to get a grip!
Very poor service today and was told by waitresd that they were busy! Each course i had to ask them to take it away when finished - not good enough.
Food was good but service was shocking. We order 3 starters and only received one. 45 mn went by and when we asked the waitress she told us they were coming. 10mn later we got some of our main courses and when asked about the started the waitress just said “oh. Terribly sorry”. And that was it. Like it was not a big deal. The restaurant was not full but everytime we asked a staff member for something they were quite rude and we had to ask 3times for the dessert menus. Finally decided not to bother. Such a shame - have frequented many Cotes and love the food but at Barnes there seems to be some major challenges with staff and kitchen. Very disappointing.
Staff were very welcoming, charming and attentive. The food was tasty, plentiful and excellent value for money. This was our first visit to the relatively new Barnes restaurant and we enjoyed its spacious environment. We’ll be back!
Great food, super evening and great value My favourite restaurant in Barnes I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends In fact going again tomorrow!
Steak was cooked more than I asked for but other than that it was a very nice meal and evening. The service was good and friendly without being too intrusive.
Excellent food - onion soup and the calamari were super tasty - fillet steak was deliciously tender - though the chocolate mousse was not quite as 'dark' as suggested, but was still OK. Service was friendly.
Lovely atmosphere, very attentive service, excellent food and lovely surroundings with view of the Barnes pond area. Will certainly be eating there again. Many thanks.
Steak like a piece of old leather and cold and came far too quickly (are they cooked in advance?) - didn’t want to make a fuss as I was taking someone to lunch. Also they completely lost interest once we’d eaten, and impossible to get their attention so had to go up to the counter to pay. Won’t be returning, especially as this is the second bad meal I’ve had at Cote.
We are big fans of Cote but we felt that the relatively new Barnes restaurant was not quite up to the usual Cote standard. We all had the set lunch. The steak was overcooked and not pink. The chicken was disappointing - rather lacking in flavour. The rest of the food was fine. The service was quite slow (this was after 2.00 pm) and not as efficient as usual - glasses left on the table etc. We hope to see some improvement on our next visit as the location and ambience of the restaurant are great.
A good meal and excellent friendly service. It could be noisy as there is little to absorb noise. We enjoyed the experience and will certainly go again
No attention after being seated. Too long waiting for initial drink. Booking online needs to be reviewed; I tried booking initially for 6.30pm which is early by conventional retaurant standards, but told nothing available, so adjusted to 6.45pm. When I arrived at 6.30 the restaurant was virtually empty.....?! I like Cote and the food was fine.......but it still seems amatuerish and the arrangement for booking not suitable.
Food good reasonable price, staff very attentive happy tochat . Menu extensive with plenty of price range to choose from Lovely ambience plenty of space between tables
Food served hot. The Escalope of Veal was crispy and the Breton chicken moist and tasty too. Staff efficient and cheery. Clean toilets. Would recommend.
We had a birthday lunch party for my 95 year old mother and we were very pleased with the table with all round view of the common, tucked into an alcove. The service and food were excellent, including the chef’s happy birthday individual dessert served with song & candles!
Very good food and pleasant attentive and helpful service. Lovely environment on Barnes pond. Altogether a very good experience. The restaurant is so popular it gets noisy at times but that can’t be helped.
This is a lovely venue and we had excellent food and service. There was only one small downside and that was that we were in the conservatory section and, because there were people eating outside on a fairly breezy evening, the doors were often left open and left us a little chilly at our table.
I usually go to Richmond Cote but have had two dodgy evenings there this year so thought I would try Barnes. It was wonderful and much nicer than Richmond. I did tell them it was my birthday and they came at the end of the meal with a lovely Chocolate pud and ice cream with a candle on it ! Super!! And all four of us enjoyed the food. A big Thank You.
Service was very friendly. Food was very good. Lovely atmosphere and perfect for a family dinner out. The service was a bit patchy here and there but more than compensated by the friendly waiters.
Super waiter. Efficient service. Only prob is noise but that is because of the barn- like space . That’s the only thing that puts us off Cotes in general.
Cotes was an oasis this morning, peaceful, lovely atmosphere and a great table over looking the park. The waiting staff were helpful, courteous and cheerful. The food was excellent. This is my new go to breakfast restaurant in Barnes.
Friendly staff, reliably good food, our favourite pond-side setting - all we need for a happy family evening supper. We’re very glad Côté came to Barnes.
The location & ambience was good. Service OK. Pink battered steak was not really pink, overcooked as thin. Very limp cress with grilled haddock. This was replaced when requested. Iced fruit disappointing & white chocolate sauce very poor. However Crème Brule excellent.
Great service, good food, lovely space. Came for a birthday with larger group and the staff were very attentive and personable. Catered to our needs without hesitation.
We enjoy the time at Cote in Barnes tonight when we were dinner tonight. And very good service as well. The food was good as well
Oh dear. Despite charming Maitre D there are clearly a lot of teething problems that need ironing out. Service ludicrously slow. Eventually when the steaks eventually all of them had been cooked wrongly so the boys medium rare sirloins were well done and the husbands well done rib eye was rare. They took his away and it took 40 mins to reappear along with the missing side order of peas by which time everyone else had finished. Maitre was terribly and sweetly apologetic and gave us a huge discount on bill-clearly not his fault but he was very let down by the rest of his staff. Such a shame as have never had a problem in any other Cote
Unfortunately this was not a successful birthday dinner celebration. Despite the manager's and the waitress' best efforts and impeccable manners, the kitchen delivered starters out of sequence and a steak that could not be cut into or even eaten. The restaurant did offer a discount on the bill as a gesture of good will, which was appreciated. Worth another visit, perhaps...
