We visit Cote at Guildford usually once a month for lunch. The service, food quality and value never disappoint. I would unreservedly recommend this restaurant.

Helpful friendly........could have done without the music......a little less in your face, less distracting to conversation and more coincident with the rhythm of eating???? Had the butternut squash, side of the month, the squash not cooked quite enough. My sea bass was great

A really good experience from the moment we walked through thedoor. We were a party of 10 - with children and a wheelchair user - booked in for 2pm on Sunday. The restaurant was busy, but the table was prepared and the service was quick and very attentive. All of the dishes were very good and we were able to take things at our own pace. Highly recommend for great value option in the area. Paul - Dorking.

Service slow - arrived at 8.15, didn't get out until 10.45. Had to keep prompting waiter to come over. Lots of things on the menu weren't available - none of the beef bourguignon, chicken liver, lamb, guinea fowl and duck dishes were available. Overall, very disappointed - normally think of Cote as a 'dead cert', but this experience definitely was not.

When we ask for a booth it is always reserved but nobody ever turns up to occupy it. Hmm.

The server was lovely, but the food came so slowly that we had only 5 minutes to eat our main courses before we had to leave (this was booked as a pre-theatre dinner). We would have preferred for the server to tell us that service would be slow so that we could order accordingly.

Perfect spot for post Royal Festival Hall show dinner. We were a large group (including 5 children). Varied menu to suits all tastes and age groups, accommodating and welcoming staff and food ticked all the boxes.

The staff were very stretched with pre-theatre bookings but nonetheless impressively courteous and helpful throughout. Our meals were tasty and what we had hoped for. Thank you to all.

There are two essential atttributes that come with the Cote dining experience. One is the attentive but non-intrusive service. The other is, of course, the excellence of the food. Breton Stew and Haddock Goujons were of their usual outstanding quality. It is a pity though that the pre-theatre and Prestige menus are not available at weekends. The weekend specials are quite limited.

Excellent food and very good service as usual. We were going to a show at 7.30 and they managed to serve the meal in good time. Only thing was we were not seated at our table as booked as they were too busy. But non the less managed to complete the meal in good time.

Menu as always a good selection. Seated on lower floor, a table for two, squashed alongside other diners. The noise level made hearing most difficult. Hardly a romantic French bistro!!

We had a lovely New Year's Eve (lunch) before going to a matinée performance at the theatre. A popular and busy Cote; however this did not impact on the excellent service.

The food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant staff and our waitress were very friendly and helpful. Sadly the restaurant and, in particular, the wc’s were really quite dirty and in need of cleaning.

7 friends and I visited the restaurant today for a New Year’s Day celebrations. I was told over the phone that the set menu would be available but sadly this was incorrect. The Manager was apologetic and gave us some bread and olives and we were fine about that. However, following this the service was extremely slow and inattentive throughout the entire meal. The staff all seemed to be confused and very disorganised. We had to ask for everything we needed. Nobody checked back on our food or offered us more drinks or even brought us dessert menus. The food was ok but not brilliant. It was not expensive as you’d expect from Cote but the potions of some of the food such as the fish pie and the vegetarian pie was in an absolutely tiny pie dish! And all £12.50 a portion which we thought took the mick. Most of our food was barely Luke warm. When we did get our bill, it was somebody else’s and then when ours came it had 3 things on there that shouldn’t have been on there. It also had 12.5% service charge which we paid as there was 8 of us and none of us wanted to make a scene. I normally love Cote so this New Years Day experience was pretty disappointing.

Whilst other branches of Côte are generally excellent this branch felt like many other chains on the Southbank who are in a tourist hotspot and don't care about return business as the food was distinctly average and very basic service. We had to chase up the drinks we ordered as aperitifs which ended up coming at the same.time as our meals. Hardly the point! We asked for a steak knife and extra condiments that never came and the food was quite average - under seasoned steak and underdone pork belly. Disappointing.

We had reservation for 5:45pm on Dec 30 & seated promptly. Wine & starter arrived within 10 minutes, but we waited a further hour for main course. As we had theater tix, we had to rush our dinner. Food was fine, but this venue is soooo busy. Would give it a miss. BTW staff did apologize for delay & offered a free drink but that did NOT arrive either.
