Always delicious and authentic Spanish food served with a smile. The best calamari ever and the Tarte di Santiago is to die for! Finish your meal with that and a glass of the Pedro Ximinez. Yum!!!

Best tapas in edinburgh. Fresh, tasty and authentic. It’s also reasonably priced and the staff are friendly and helpful. You really can’t go wrong with El Quijote. If you like authentic Spanish tapas then this place is pretty much perfect.

Excellent auality of food. Service pushed beyond relaxed towards inattentive. Picked up after a slow start. Not unreasonably you should be pretty chilled to get the best out of your visit. But then we all need some of that dont we?

If you are looking for authentic Spanish and especially local Andalucían cuisine....this is the place for you. Not your typical tapas menus that you see in chains or establishments run by ex-pats but true food that you will see in southern Spain. Chefs and owners are from Andalucía so you can practice your Spanish while you dine on the fabulous food they prepare They also serve true Ibérico Pork. If you haven’t tried the worlds best pork then give it a try!!!

Love this place. Authentic Spanish food and great service. All of the wines are reasonably priced and taste great. They pace the meal nicely, so you don’t have everything arriving at once, which is great if there’s just the two of you.

The food was very good as usual. We had 6 dishes and all were first class. Cheese x2, cod, iberico pork, ratatouille, mushroom croquettes and a sweet with coffee. The only minor grumble was the restaurant was a little cool. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Food quality amazing as always! Highlights the pork cheeks and croquettes. Wine really good variety and the one I chose, from bierzo, really tasty, fruity and easy to drink. Attention from waiter really nice and attentive. Flow incoming food perfect timing and really smooth. Come back again and again, worth every penny you pay in taste and high quality in food and service

The restaurant was busy and only one member of staff to attend to the customers which he did very well. I was disappointed with some of the dishes we picked and accept I should have asked more for tapas size and not larger dishes as I really enjoy sharing dishes. The restaurant is friendly, small, intimate and I am glad it is run independently and not a chain-store business. All the best to El Quijote and its staff.

All of us (3) enjoyed 9 different tapas dishes. All the dishes were very tasty, including cheeses, cod, calamari, padron peppers chorizo and pork cheek stew. Service was very good. Would not hesitate to come here again.

A small, intimate Spanish restaurant, with friendly staff and an interesting menu. Good choice of dishes available in various portions. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the choices we made. The wine list was excellent and all from Spanish regions. Good value and most enjoyable.

Excellent food, excellent service. We have not enjoyed better salmorejo outside of Seville (where some of the staff are from), Sancho (ratatouille with chorizo and egg) delightfully seasoned, the calamari was tender, and the tarta de Santiago with cafe con leche was a perfect finish. We will probably come back before we leave Edinburgh, and hope El Quijote will be here when we next return.

Fantastic, creative food and really friendly staff. We had a mixture of antipasti (fish balls) & first plate (shrimp and courgette flower risotto), and first plate (vongole/prawn pasta with courgette cream) and second plate (pistachio crusted swordfish). All were delicious and cooked perfectly. The owner kindly helped us negotiate the wine menu and humoured my attempts at speaking basic Italian.
