Good atmosphere. Polite and attentive staff. Varied choice of menu. Crunchy chorizo prawns were delicious. Buffalo chicken wings were very greasy and had almost no flavour. Baby back ribs were tender in the middle , but too dry at either end to be edible. The ribs were delicious but probs not worth £ 17.50 Not sure I will be going back !

No butter with toast. Restaurant is very noisy and not cheap. Staff don't give you long enough to have a good look at menu. Also brunch menu is limited over the weekend.

Steak was over cooked, something unnoticed was also an issue for the neighbouring table. Lack of attention to detail - for example sending a burger out with mayo when we'd asked for no mayo, putting the sweet potato fries with the wrong dish and no replenishing the cutlery so we had to wait a few minutes to get waitresses attention to get knives and forks before being able to start our meal. This aside, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Would return, just need to iron out these attention to detail issues.

Not impressed sadly:( we waited over 50 minutes for our food and gave up in the end. Really disappointed and sadly we won't be returning.

Unfortunately the service was not particulalry good but food was great. It took then over 20 minutes to change by drink, only to then be told they had run out of it.

macaroni cheese tasted like microwaved water, burger was poor but the chips tasted uncooked, the mushrooms were also really watery, the buttermilk chicken was soggy and not cooked properly, the soggy batter was falling off the chicken, the slaw had also leaked some liquid all over to make the whole meal taste even more soggy! we had such high hopes and had been looking forward to visiting but we wont be returning, could have got better chicken from KFC across the road!

Poor food - had high hopes but very disappointed. Got the feeling that it's just another commercial chain restaurant which from the menu promises something better

Food was good but service was slow, they forgot our drinks and got food supplements wrong. Coffee was really small. I did love the breakfast though so I'd probably go back if they sort out the service.

Slow service, good food but a bit expensive for what we had, Service charge not great and being charged for water not expected. Best thing was roasted cauliflower. Triple cooked chips need to be chunkier!!! Lovely staff.

Friendly waiter, good variety of food choices, good atmosphere. Would eat here again however our booth seat was full of crumbs and the beer glasses were warm.

Great venue, friendly staff and delicious food. Service was a little slow considering how quiet the restaurant was. Kids menu could be better with kids cutlery.

Good polite service and very tasty food - I had the salmon . Just a bit pricey and had difficulty confirming the reservation online. Would probably visit again.

Food was very good and the choice of beer and whiskeys is excellent. The restaurant has a great old American feel with appropriate decor. As the after work rush of people died down there appeared to be a change-over of staff which led to the service getting much slower.

The Staff and service were great but we the food was fairly average. We left the restaurant feeling very full but not particularly satisfied, maybe we choose badly.

We went to Jackson + Rye for a family dinner and had a great experience. The staff were attentive and very helpful. The food was great - especially the steaks. The menu had enough variety to cater for all our different needs.

Lovely staff and great food! Very accommodating to us - we had our baby with us and they moved us to a table where the buggy would fit better etc. Lovely atmosphere too, will be going back.

Good restaurant! Love the interior, staff were lovely and friendly. Food was good, we love ribs and 3 of the group had ribs as they fell off the bone was off to great start but the meat was a tad chewy but still pleasant all the same. The buttermilk chicken was delicious!! Is definitely worth a visit 🙂

We went to the Guildford restaurant early evening. Started with a Bloody Mary, which was watery and lacking in flavour. With so many good American Bloody Mary mixes available it was very very disappointing. The table snacks of popcorn chicken and hush puppies were good. We then moved on to the main course of Fillet steak and Pork Chop. These were OK, but certainly nothing special. The triple cooked chips were very poor, they appeared more like oven chips with no crunch. Overall a reasonable atmosphere and level of service but overpriced for what it was. Nothing apart from the popcorn chicken stood out as being particularly good. We probably will not be visiting again.

Really enjoyed my first visit to Jackson & Rye in Guildford. Went Friday evening for dinner with friends. Lovely relaxed ambience & welcoming waiting staff. Food was delicious, and there was a good choice on the menu. Can highly recommend the baby rack of ribs! Will definitely go back. The only slight negative is we had to wait a while before getting our bill, which added a bit of a delay at the end of the evening.

I thought the menu was limited, and overpriced. I had a dirty napkin, and was not surprised to find that the staff didn't know the menu, e.g. how do the prawns come, shell on or off? They added on a large service charge to the bill, which always irritates.

Had a fabulous brunch here. Love the decor and the service is wonderful. My son had the pancakes and I had scrambled egg and smoked salmon on granary toast. Both tasted amazing! And the bill was reasonable too. Great experience, we will definitely be back

We were seated immediately and the waitress took our orders and checked on us throughout our stay. The food was excellent and arrived quickly. The blood orange sorbet was very good when paired with the mango and passion fruit sorbet. We will be returning as the service is great, the atmosphere is awesome and the staff are very good at what they do.

It was not very busy so service was swift, the food was good (particularly my macaroni cheese) and there was little we could fault. We will definitely go back.

Decidedly average. The service was good - attentive, prompt and helpful however that food was nothing to get excited about. Quite expensive for average fare and all a bit tasteless. Well presented but a bit meh. I had nutty salad which had an over abundance of tasteless chickpeas and scarcely any salsa, guacamole or flavour, few seeds and def no nuts. For £9. The meat platters were overdone and also lacking in any flavour ( especially the brisket) Overall all the food was a bit bland. The beer was very good though - the pitcher was slightly cloudy, cold and easy to drink and the glasses were nicely frosted.

Service was average, as was the food. Hamburger arrived without cheese. Pasta sauce tasted like it had been made with soup. They weren't busy but food wasn't quick out the kitchen.

Great brunch. Slightly different take on the usual offerings and will go back. Service was good; efficient and helpful without being intrusive. Nice atmosphere and not too. Yay of crowded. Worth booking though.

Food was great, service needed improving as we were brought out food we hadn't ordered and my daughter had to wait a while for her main whilst all the rest of us had been given ours

The food was very average and quite expensive for what it was. The atmosphere was oppressive and the service wasn't consistent. The best part of the restaurant is the bar.

Entered at 1600hrs and had a daytime meal left at 1635 and spent 48 pounds on 3 x meal and cokes. Too expensive and small portions. Upstairs on toilet break staff numbers around 6-8 sitting around a table swearing and eating takeaways. Not very professional.

The food was excellent. The service was however less impressive. As experienced before it's unpredictable and the waiting time to order drinks and food very slow. It's becoming the norm and has to improve!!

Arrived to an empty restaurant for 5pm booking only to be put at back of restaurant facing the wall. Had to ask for different table which was hard to find in empty place. Food tepid, service ok, nothing special....Careful of built in service charge....
