Jackson + Rye - Guildford

I usually love JR but this time the food was mediocre, the buffalo wings were terrible, really poor quality chicken, we had 2 & had to leave the rest of the portion!

The waitress didn't seem to know what she was doing, most of them ignored us when we tried to ask them something and you need to ask your patrons how they would like their burgers! I was so hungry I ate mine even though it came out pink in the middle. This is unacceptable and I do not understand why burgers are now being served this way.

Terrible service..sat down at 7, took over an hour for our main to arrive (we didn't order starters) then desert took 40 mins. It was 9:10 when it eventually arrived. Main course was also lukewarm at best

Sweet potatoes chips x two were cold. Had to chase the replacement and they were also barely warm. Was not offered apology or voucher etc so deducted service charge and gave small cash tip to waitress. Food not fantastic probably wouldn't bother again. Shame nice decor and music

Amazing food and service couldn't recommend it highly enough! The portions were huge but everything was delicious and they also had great cocktails and beers!

Really good - we all enjoyed. Only criticism is that the amount of olives we got for the nibbles was pretty small for the price.

Its was fine, just a nice burger, good dessert, service good but not sure about table as right next to entrance to kitchen very busy! Also lights dimmed later on and could hardly see the food.

Amazing meat. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Walking into Jackson and Rye is like walking into a different era. Lovely music and lighting. Friendly staff showed us to our table. Menu includes loads of original items - nice for a change. Ordered the BBQ board but my eyes were too big for my stomach. Amazing ribs, nice spicy chicken wings and peppery steak. Coleslaw was good for mellowing down the spice! Nice lagers to choose from on the menu. Not too expensive considering the quality and taste of the food.

Excellent food and service. My wife ordered ribs and she complained because the one rib wasn't big enough, the manager agreed and gave us another. Everything else was great. Will come again. Mark

Excellent friendly service, good food and comfortable atmosphere. Very pleased with the world beer selection, especially the Boston Lager and the unfiltered 2 pint jug.

This is an absolutely fantastic restaurant. 5 Star cheerful efficient service. Steak and eggs top class. Hot crisp chips. Capucino used good quality coffee. And I am fussy about coffee. 5 of us had Saturday lunch on 21 Jan 2017 and left delighted.

Second visit and just as enjoyable ! Chicken wings, too big as a starter but tasty. Ribs a little dry. Prawn linguini very good. Swordfish good. Interesting American beer choices. Give it a go!

Mark the manager is excellent! Always really friendly and welcoming!

Terrible food, all over cooked, bland meat, dog end chips, over priced. Very poor. Very disappointed. The starters are tiny and very sub standard. Didn't even attempt desert!

Fab service, friendly staff. The only reason the score is not higher is that the soup (which half of us ordered) was out of stock and they had ran out of vanilla ice cream, both by 12.30pm on a Monday which seemed a bit odd!

Great food and the service was perfect, the team changed the booking which I re arranged for an earlier time at short notice! Very pleased

We went as a party of 6 and had a lovely time. It was my sons 14th birthday and was ideal. The food was great even though we had a few special requests (dairy free, gluten free and vegan!). The service was good and the music was great. Shame they don't have a playlist on Spotify!

Several items ordered not available. Drinks orders took forever to come. Burger ordered was cold, when new one came the chips were cold, they did adjust the bill.

Good food and great location but service wasn’t great they rushed us and then didn’t bring any change when we paid even though service charge is added already

A bit disappointed this time (my third visit). The s'mores dessert had a crumbled biscuit base (not the graham cracker) and no peanut butter as far as I could taste. The first time I had this dessert it was hands down one of the best I had ever had but it has been changed (I am sure I had both toffee and chocolate sauce) but now only chocolate.

We went for date night and enjoyed every minute. We're by the window which was t the best seat but still no complaints. Ribye steak is amzing and tops many of the steak dedicated restaurants in the area! A must try for steak lovers

Food good, service rubbish, waited over 30 minutes between courses and they put on 12.5% service charges which I took off. So if you don't mind waiting....... even though the restaurant was half empty.

It was a good experience but our burgers were raw. When we complained they did take off £4 which was the cost of one of the drinks.

Amazing service, fabulous cocktails and delicious food- totally recommended. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make recommendations based on our tastes. The bar service was great and they were happy to create or change there listed cocktails based on likes and dislikes.

Poor service very slow. No one n restaurant but still very slow. Ordered starters of corn dogs We had waited ages and just 3 were served. They had run out. No alternative s offered. Poor

Food poor: half-hour wait after ordering (in half empty restaurant) , then food lukewarm with unappetising presentation. Returned one main, was offered free drink. However, when we pointed out shortcomings at end of meal, we were given an apology and an overall reduction. Unfortunately, we would hesitate to book again in what is a very competitive market.

The experience here last night was neither here nor there. There was nothing special. Atmosphere was ruined by staff being rude and getting an allergy order wrong and upsetting the couple next to us. Food was ok, a bit over cooked and dry. Wont be coming back

Comfortable restaurant and decent food, although Cote is better if you want to treat yourself to a tasty full-English breakfast at the weekend. Could do with a 'formule'-style deal with, including hot food, hot drink and juice. The thick-cut bacon was a treat - like boneless pork ribs.

Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed the food. Would like to see better Gluten Free options and labeling them on the menu rather than having to ask the staff.

Food good. Long wait for sweet course(15 minutes), despite not being very busy. Atmosphere and seating good. Arbitrary tip included in bill might not always go down well in UK.

A great dining experience. Presentation was great and food was tasty. Service was quick and staff were helpful. Decor was fab. Over all a great dining experience.

The service was very good and the food tasted good. However unfortunately 2 members of our party were quite sick which was disappointing, we suspect it was some form of cross-contamination.

It was my son's birthday treat & staff made a fuss of him which was nice. The food was ok, quite spicy thou, especially the ribs. Also had a half an hour wait between mains & desserts. However desserts were good when they finally arrived.

restaurant was very quiet for lunch. Food was generally good although not all dishes worked well and substitutions were not announced until dishes were brought to table. staff were friendly. Would love to try when it's a bit busier and has more atmosphere.
