Great setting and enjoyed the American style food and wine. My only criticism was that it took a long time for our main courses to arrive, but it was a Six Nations day so the restaurant was very busy!

Food was very average. Much better places to spend your money for a great breakfast. Probably the best part was the view of the river - that was nice.

Easy to book a table on line. Promptly met when we arrived and immediately shown to our table. Service was prompt and polite, food was good and the restaurant was packed and had a great atmosphere - it was Saturday lunchtime prior to England v Wales at Twickenham.

First time we have been for lunch to J +R for a while and much improved - new better menu (more varied and lighter starters) and more interesting wine list (try the merlot - really good). Will go again soon.

This was our first time at Jackson and Rye. It seems to be a popular restaurant with its location on the Thames in Richmond. Our food (with the exception of the ribeye my husband ordered) was delicious. They offer an extensive wine and cocktail list and can imagine sitting on the outside terrace when the weather is nice. The service was nice. As they got busier service was less attentive -we were offered desset menus but the wait to actually order dessert was significant. I would definitely return.

This place has great food options - my favourites are the huevos rancheros and forager's breakfast. Great brunch drinks, a beautiful view, and impressive prices. Our new favourite breakfast spot, for sure!

Fab restaurant! We got a great table by the window overlooking the river and the best waiter! Only negative was the fries that came with my meal, unfortunately they came out pretty cold and soggy. However great food apart from this and lovely desserts. Will definitely be back.

Good food. Friendly staff. Great views. We were waiting a long time for our food but staff came and explained it was due to a large table being served. So can't complain about that.

Food was fantastic. Service was disinterested and slow however. Had to ask to order then had to ask for more drinks. Then we also had to ask where our food was despite the restaurant not being busy which was disappointing. Felt completely ignored for the most part.

Great location, nice food, average service. Slow bringing drinks, very poor wine service (had to requested refills from our bottle which had been placed in an ice bucket out of our reach), had to ask for sugar after coffees had been served, received incorrect bill and had to ask for it to be reviewed.

Lovely place, excellent service and fantastic food. The waiter realised it was our daughters special birthday and surprised her by singing happy birthday along with his colleagues. Just made our evening extra special and memorable.

Amazing service from the manager and good value food. Also good coffee and nice decor. The toilets are also really nice and have lovely soap (which sounds silly but was notable enough to remember when I got home!!)

Usually a very nice place but this evening the service wasn’t good and the food was below average. Very disappointing, went to use the restroom and on my return my drinks were cleared away when clearly i wasn’t finished.

Nice evening, however had to ask for both wine glasses to be replaced - one was chipped and the other dirty. Also, even though we had a voucher for a free wine bottle which was clearly communicated, the first bill arrived with the wine bottle included. However this was rectified. Overall very much enjoyed the food and the ambiance.

I’ve been here multiple times in all seasons, weekdays and weekend and over lunch and dinner. And they have always had great quality food and service. Lovely atmosphere. The main thing is they have been able to remain consistent throughout. Well done to the team at J&R Richmond.

The service was terrible, very slow and the waitress didn’t seem to have a clue what she was doing. The food came out cold. The menu has been reduced and still they didn’t have everything on there (which the waitress didn’t tell us until after we’d ordered. Such a shame as the location is great but think if they’re going to survive they need to improve standards...a lot!

The atmosphere was lovely but the food came out a bit cold, the lamb was quite underdone and the pomme puree was actually a big dollop of mashed potato. I’ve eaten at a few J&R’s now and each time with the ambiance and the menu wording I expect more than what I actually get food wise which is disappointing. The service has always been top notch though.

I gave it another shot after a poor enough experience the last time around. The food quality simply doesnt match the location or surroundings. Street food outlets across the city are wiping the floor with guy like this currently, half the price!

I've been to the Kingston Jackson and Rye and it was very good. I organised for a group of office colleagues to celebrate a pre Christmas lunch and was very disappointed. The place was half empty which, given its location, views and time of year was not good. The staff were indifferent towards us. The food was served on in-matching bog standard mass catering supplier style chipped plates and empty beer bottles and finished plates were left on the table as if they were too busy (or too disinterested to do the minimum of work to look after customers). The lovely venue and space is wasted on this restaurant and with many competitors in Richmond they need to seriously sort themselves out. I won't be returning.
