The service was friendly and efficient and more importantly the food was authentic Spanish and delicious. La Sal feels like eating in a family's home in Spain.

We ate there on Christmas Eve, so the place was quite empty, but the staff was very friendly and the food was excellent and authentic. I will stop by again the next time I am in Edinburgh.

Great food and excellent service all served in a rustic environment. We had a nice evening and the paella for 3 was good value. We will be back.

Small restaurant, with a nice atmosphere. It was very busy, so service was a bit slow but good anyway. Each dish was delicious and tasted authentic. Prices were okay for the amount of food that you get. Sangria was very good too. Would definitely recommend!

Carlos y el resto del staff fueron muy agradables. La comida muy buena (probamos ensalada de rulo de cabra, croquetas y huevos con jamón) . Precios razonables tratándose de Reino Unido. Muy recomendable.

Good food but expensive. Raciones £18? Come on! That's the price of a good quality main course and a racion is just a large tapa.

La Sal has friendly service with a great range of authentic Spanish tapas. I particularly like the Pimientos de Padron and the Fabada Asturiana. We will definitely be going back!

Great food. Friendly staff. Salt cod and chorizo both as good as I have tasted. Only slight disappointment was the pork cheeks but only relatively speaking.

If it was not for the Fringe Alba FLamenca having a show I would never have found you, Lasal. Fantastic non stop show well done to all. Great authentic Tapas restaurant. I found you on Google booked a table you confirmed by Email and reminded me on the day by email. I will be back fantastic service, great food and not enough time to try all dishes. I will spread the word you are tucked away in Howden Street have great character and loyal customers well done to your team

Food fantastic as always. La Sal serves the best tapas in Edinburgh in our opinion. good service, lovely wine. Our only gripe was that the serving of jamon and manchego was very small for the price. That aside, we highly recommend it.

Fantastic food, portions very generous. A lovely small intimate restaurant usually but a large hen party in and it was very noisy. Won't put me off, I will return. Staff very friendly

We had tapas which were delicious & food authentic. Star of the dishes was the garlic & chilli prawns. We had 4 tapas dishes which was ample for two ladies & left enough room for divine marsapone cheesecake & tart. Wine selection very good & staff very helpful. Definitely worth a visit & the 10min cab trip from st andrews square. Definitely recommend & look forward to another visit.

Disappointing. We enjoyed our first meal there last year so booked again, following the excellent Flamenco show. (9.15) It was a Saturday in the Fringe so very busy but not a great experience - no ham, slow service (had to ask twice for bread, food not hot and later coffee - loos clean but paper everywhere. Air of chaos perhaps due to short staff.

Wonderful food, wine, service and atmosphere. Genuine, authentic tapas. This place has to be one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. I can't recommend it enough.
