Lovely service, beautiful setting , amazing food , made us feel like millionaires for the day

My husband and I visited Langar Hall for the '6 course tasting menu'. We were served drinks in the lounge and given a menu, which we kept, in order to keep track of the courses we were trying. Well, 6 courses turned out to be 10 with extras being brought out. Each was delicious and a wonderful opportunity to try dishes such as scallops that I wouldn't necessarily choose from a menu. By the dessert dishes though I was pretty much done. Whilst each dish was small in size there were so many of them! But I'm not complaining. The service was excellent with waiters whisking around ensuring glasses were refilled in an unobtrusive manner. One waiter in particular was very kind offering encouragement as my appetite waned. By the end I was full to bursting though grateful for a hot cup of tea. My husband wolfed the petit fours! I would say for the setting, the quality of food and the standard of service it was excellent value for money as you really do get what you pay for. I would recommend and will return.

Langar Hall is always nice, my only bug bear (with all restaurants) is with service charges added to the bill. Also value for money if I order a steak (or beef) and cheese (not pudding) adding two supplements to both prices means the two and three course prices are misleading and a bit cheeky.

Lovely meal for a special birthday. Catered well for diners with Coeliac disease.

SORRY, BUT A MEAL FOR TWO PEOPLE INCLUDING ONE GLASS OF WINE AND A SHANDY COSTING £120 IS JUST WAY OVER THE TOP. NO WONDER THE COUNTRY HAS SO MANY PEOPLE GOING TO FOODBANKS, I FEEL SORRY FOR THE UNEMPLOYED, HOMELESS AND REFUGEES, MY MONEY COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER SPENT. IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE, BUT SADLY, NOT ONE I WOULD WISH TO REPEAT, ESPECIALLY AS WHEN WE LOOKED AT THE MENU ON LINE IT SAID THE MAIN COURSE WAS £23.95, BUT MADE NO MENTION OF A 12% GRATUITY ON TOP ETC., ETC., A LOVELY PLACE, EXCELLENT SERVICE FROM VERY FRIENDLY STAFF, BUT JUST FAR TOO EXPENSIVE.

Amazing place - we had a wonderful time starting with pre-dinner drinks on the lawn with beautiful views and then a delicious meal in gorgeous traditional surroundings. Excellent service too!

Very welcoming and relaxed. Excellent and varied menu. Twice baked cheese soufflés superb. Hake with mussels, baby turnips and radishes deliciously different.

A family celebration of four generations at Langer Hall. The venue, staff and food all perfect, an overall wonderful and memorable occasion for my grandmothers 90th birthday.

An excellent meal in a very special place for another 'significant' birthday. Memories of many previous celebratory visits with much loved and missed friends, and when dear Imogen was there. We raised our glasses to them all. X

Excellent service, good ambiance and quality of food. Only criticism was that the chairs in the lounge area were past their best!

Enjoyable birthday meal for my husband that included a very unusual and unexpected vine tomato soup with more than a nod to the spices of India! Delicious guinea fowl and sorbets and a fascinating range of cheeses.

An excellent meal in a beautiful setting albeit better WiFi to facilitate card payments might smooth things out a little

The whole evening was exceptional. The combination of flavours and textures in each course were wonderful. A very special experience.

We only booked the day before Easter Sunday, but they were able to fit us in and we had a lovely lunch in the conservatory which was good as it was a very sunny hot day!

Wonderful country house atmosphere and very relaxed. We could have stayed around on the lawn afterwards all afternoon.

My husband and I had a fantastic overnight stay at Langar Hall. The food (a set menu for Good Friday) was absolutely delicious and the service exemplary. All the staff were extremely friendly and polite and we loved staying in the Agnew chalet in the beautiful gardens. We will definitely return.
