Service very sloooow. Starter was minimalistic, main course was very poor. My wifes cooking is better, so whats the point? Give the head waiter his due, he never charged for the main meal.

The food was excellent although the service was slow and they mixed up the drinks/food orders at times, they did strive to make things better. I would recommend Sorrento and will go back.

The food was great but the service was slow and inattentive. Waiter disappeared while serving the wine - it later transpired he'd cut himself but he didn't explain what had happened. Later, it was hard to catch someone's eye to get the bill.

It was incredibly quiet when we arrived (only us there!) but still a pleasant atmosphere. Staff were attentive without being overbearing, food was piping hot and tasty. Fixed price lunch menu was excellent value. All in all a good experience.

Excellent food, great value, lovely restaurant and very attentive staff. Special mention to the young lady who was our waitress. She was delightful and so helpful as were all the staff. Will certainly be paying a return visit.

After seeing a "special Valentine Menu" advertised I decided to book as we had previously looked at the restaurant. Whilst in the restaurant I was told we must book online and make menu choices in advance…strange. So we booked and chose online. On Valentines Day we were warmly welcomed by staff. Then when our starters arrived, ravioli, the pasta was hard, dried and tasted only of salt. The accompanying bruschetta was tasty, but not tasty enough to distract from the ravioli. Main courses were tasty, drinks reasonably priced staff were attentive and seemed concerned that we had left a lot of food. I appreciated the offer of complimentary drink but I was driving, I like the location of restaurant and the a la carte menu, but I'm not sure if I'd visit again.

I've visited this place before a few times when it was Casa Russo and always enjoyed it. Last night, a group of us went to Sorrento for my birthday. The waiting staff were very nice and attentive although a couple didn't have great English so didn't understand some of our requests. The food was average and not nearly as good as it was before. I would not rush back.

Lovely looking restaurant. Food was presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. Amazing tastes and I'd definitely like to try more of the dishes. Seven of us thoroughly enjoyed the night.

Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and helpful. My only negative was that the restaurant wasn't very warm, and there was no hot water water in the toilets.

A warm welcome, tasty food and a comfortable atmosphere! Staff were very efficient but not intrusive and the food was nicely presented. Will definitely visit again, in fact I am, same time next week already booked!

Terrible service. If we hadn't been there for a friend's birthday we would have walked out. Ignored when we first walked in, waited too long to be seated at a table we had booked, we were in the restaurant 45 mins before one of us got a drink, 55 mins before the three of us had a drink, the waiter brought the first plate of food and sat it in the middle of the table while he went back to the kitchen to find out what it was, the garlic bread we ordered appeared after we had all finished our meal, one of us ordered a second beer but we had to eventually go up to the bar to get it, and then despite sitting for 30 mins after our main course, no one offered us desserts or coffees. The food was good but it's not worth the effort.

Excellent evening with both good food and great service. The setting is lovely and there was a lively atmosphere transporting you to Italy while still in Glasgow. Thank you.

We had a lovely Italian meal at Sorrento, Byres Rd, Glasgow on Sat 21st January. The waiters were very attentive, friendly and happy. The food was fresh, hot and very very tasty. My only complaint is that the portions are big so make sure you are very hungry before you go to this restaurant. All in all a very lovely experience. We will be back.

Service was very good. Attentive and alert to any need but not intrusive. Delicious haggisy starter. Tomato pasta was lovely. Liked the fruit tree in the centre of the room and Italian staff. Felt quite authentic.

Apparently the chef has changed when the restaurant became Sorrento. They have kept many of the dishes that were part of the Casa Russo menu, but the chef cannot execute some of them as well. The main dish I had was poorly presented and bland, which I was extremely disapointed with since my previous experience had been very good, which was why I had returned to this restaurant in the first place.

Great service, quick, friendly. Restaurant looks great inside. Food was great. Meat balls slightly undercooked but still tasted great! Only downside is the restaurant has now changed name so we had difficulty locating it.

Waited 45mins for our meals (in an otherwise empty restaurant). Forgot to bring one of the side dishes and took 15mins to bring a coffee. Food was ok. Mushroom risotto quite bland. Overall disappointing. Likely will not be back

first time there, I was looking for a restaurant close to kibble palace (we had tickets to Bard in the Botanics) friendly staff, comfortable seating and good food (pizza & fries for my friend and penne contadina for me) we'll definitely be going back

The overall experience was not great. Hence........ The restaurant is nice, clean and inviting. The starter was nice, however, the mains were disappointing on 1 count and inedible on the other. Sea food risotto- tasty rice with well cooked prawns and drastically over cooked calamari. Spaghetti carbonara was curdled like scrambled egg and could not be eaten. Staff were apologetic, however, I think that they knew the dish was not right when they served it as they were not long in coming over and asking about it. First impressions last, we won't be back.

I had a three-course lunch along with a glass of wine on Friday afternoon, which was excellent. Afterwards I was feeling a bit full to have any dinner later on in the day, but once again, I still enjoyed my lunch at Cassa Russo.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, but steak was way overpriced for the quantity of food (small portion of meat and a few potatoes), with no additional sides.
