The Kings Head

We have been going to the Kings Head for years and it’s always our ‘go to’ place for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.

Lovely meal as always and great, friendly service in 2018.

lovely atmosphere but food was not great. Sauce tasted like it had come out of a packet and the vegetarian options were really poor.

A lovely evening. This was a birthday treat and we thoroughly enjoyed it. For us, it is expensive, but a worthwhile treat.

They could not find reservation although we were srated quickly. Steak was gristle. Took price of coffees from Bill. Sweet was lovely. Not up to usual standard very disappointed

Good food, an imaginative menu & friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant & for the middle of the week it seemed well frequented. Quite a good find as, otherwise, good country pub/restaurants seem to be a diminishing asset.

Excellent venison burger with two toppings. Couldn't manage the dessert afterwards! Also very friendly staff and decent surroundings. We have been meeting up with friends here as a 'half way house' for many years and this is the best its ever been.

Food was lovely as usual but after my last visit I was looking forward to the g/f battered fish and chips, unfortunately that was a one-off🙁

Food superb as usual , but the establishment has recently lost a bit of atmosphere ; also organisation in the bar area seems hit and miss .

Food came out quickly, pleasant staff but you will need to book as it was busy as it was Sunday, I would go back again and tell others to go to, lovely setting and your not sat to close to other tables. I would recommend people to go.

Food was great value for money, good selection and large portions pudding selection great and a wonderful gin menu. relaxed atmosphere with good service from staff. wine menu could do with some work.

Ok ish polite but slow service food was alright but nothing special was a bit on the skinny side with veg , at £58 for two including 2 pints and a coke thought it was a little steep .

Lovely lunch again at the Kings Head. New menu since I was last here and although prices a little more now the portions sizes were good. Shame the steak has gone of the lunch menu though.

Always brilliant. Booked through Quandoo- easy to do. The salmon and crayfish cocktail is amazing! Friendly staff. Lovely drinks! Highly recommended. We will be back!

Great food and some excellent service Needed to ask a couple of times for water and for a drink but otherwise informative staff who knew about the products they were selling

Lovely meal with friends. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Menu was due to change the next day which is welcome news as we have visited several times and ready for a change. Locals so great to have a fab pub nearby. Plan to return to sample the Christmas menu.

The service was a bit slow but the food was absolutely delicious so more than made up for it. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely atmosphere, great food selection and very impressed with the Gluten free menu. There is also a vegan menu. Excellent service from very friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a lovely meal here and despite them being very busy, the service was great. Prices are moderate but happy to pay for great service and great food.

Delicious food (extra mention has to go to the chorizo scotch egg starter which was amazing and the peanut butter chocolate fondant), great service and lovely atmosphere! 100% recommend.

We've visited the Kings Head on numerous occasions lately, and every single time they've excelled themselves! The white onion soup was to die for and my rump steak was cooked to perfection! The attention to detail with the way the meals are served is second to none and the staff are always very attentive and friendly. A great mid-week treat!

The menu was varied, the food was delicious and the staff very welcoming. Lovely evening, we will definitely be going back. Highly recommend this pub.

The food, as always, was delicious. The beef in the Sunday roast dinner, however, was rather tough. The staff were attentive, polite and very efficient.

went early sat evening had chef's special smoked rib eye it was top draw as usual, wife went with fillet of beef Rossini which she enjoyed immensely. staff were great, We will be back again J.W.SMITH Daventry.

Only one blue cheese on a selection of blue cheeses? S oft/mushy roàst potatoes need to be crispy. Very good roast pork with very good crackling.

Brilliant service and delicious food. Great prices and accessible wine list. Can't wait to go back again even though we live in London! You won't be disappointed.
