Thoroughly enjoyed. Warm welcome, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good beer & wine selection. Wide choice of food for varying tastes. Cannot fault, would recommend & return.

Lovely food, good service, great quiz and nice atmosphere. I've always liked the Tommyfield and its consistency makes it a must to come back to

The experience was not great at all and I will not be returning. The staff are pleasant and helpful but the food and atmosphere was dreadful. To be fair, there was a big sporting event on and so the pub was very busy and as a consequence very very loud with people shouting and singing. This clearly does not represent a normal night I'm guessing. It didnt make a pleasant evening though as you could barely hear yourself speak. The food was awful. The sour dough bread was hot, very very hot to the point where it couldnt be picked up. It seemed an odd way to present it, room temp yes, possibly warm but hot, hot! No. The duck appeared over cooked - the skin should've been crispy and was limp and very greasy. It was warm as against hot. It was served with a couple of sides, the portion of mash was very small. The pork belly appeared to have been reheated - it wasn't great. The fat was not crispy and so couldnt be eaten it was simply chewy with no flavour. It was served with a very small portion of mash and limp, over cooked cabbage, traditional of course but not flavoursome at all. We were offered free dessert but even this was not hot - clearly it'd been heated in a microwave and so one part of it was warm whilst the other cold. Not nice at all. I wont be returning to be honest which is a shame as it's local. There are however a number of other restaurants and a gastro pub opposite which have provided a better level of service and quality for similar money.

Fantastic restaurant, good food great staff. Order was messed up slightly but it was not a big issue, were very apologetic and cared more about it than we did. Top service

The food, the service, the setting....everything was fabulous and I would definitely recommend to others. A bit off the beaten path but well worth it.

Good choice on the food and drinks menus. Nice cocktails. Food was pretty good. Bit of a wait for service as the pub got busier but not too bad.

Always a good experience at Tommyfield. The Chateaubriand was excellent, as always. This is the third time I've had it. I highly recommend it, if you're having a nice dinner for 2. I'll be back soon.

Ok food not great atmosphere. Had high hopes but a bit disappointed. Somewhere between a restaurant and gastro pub but not quite getting the balance right.

Great food helpful staff and a palatable Rioja for £17 a bottle. The lamb tagine was really tasty and the banoffee pie really fresh and substantial.

Kitchen closed earlier and they didn't ask if we wanted desert before closing. Service was good. We wished they didn't have the football on at the time. Food was very nice.

Very attentive service from when we arrived until when we left. The food was all very tasty. We had a slight mix up with one of the main dishes but the staff were very apologetic and offered us a replacement or complimentary dessert.

Have eaten here several times and enjoyed good food and service on all occasions. Can also highly recommend the comedy evenings they run from time to time - very reasonable and a fun way to spend an evening.

The Pie was awesome. The Mussels, not so much. The server's knowledge of the wine was not so great. Overall, a lovey atmosphere at lunch and a good location. Perhaps a little overpriced, but reasonable with a tastecard. As a former waiter of many years, I am always a little irked when there's a service charge added to a bill (other than for large tables). Especially when the setting is not formal - in this place it is pub grub, not a proper restaurant - and the service is equally informal. The bill came to £25, of which over £4 was service charge. That's obviously worked out before the tastecard discount, and seems a little excessive. In my experience people tend not to dispute these "optional" service charges out of embarrassment, but people instead simply choose not to go back. So this might be a bit of a short-sighted cash grab on the part of management...

Lovely venue, lovely food. Only slight problem was that the waitress struggled to understand us sometimes. It was a bit annoying when trying to order food.

Staff were really nice and helpful. regularly came and checked on our table. the food wasn't as great as my previous visit which was disappointing. I had lamb chops and the presentation was great and looked like there was loads, but when I actually ate it it was basically just all bone and fat, I barely got a mouthful of meat, very disappointing.

As with all the pubs in the Three Cheers chain, the Tommyfield does excellent food, wine and beer. Prices a little high but justifies it.

Top notch Sunday roasts, both meat and veggie. One of our party had the fresh pasta which was delicious but a rather small serving in comparison to every else's roast lunch however would be our only criticism. Overall an excellent experience, the staff were very welcoming and they cater for kids too.
