Lovely food and great service. Looking forward to our next visit.
We regularly visit the Waterside Bistro and always receive excellent service and outstanding food. Highly recommended.
A warm personal welcome, friendly staff, excellent meals. Great service.
We had fantastic food and service, as usual at the Waterside tonight.
Wonderful food and exceptional service from James and his staff.
The Waterside never disappoints. Good food excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. We always enjoy our meals there.
The Waterside has a lovely atmosphere and situation. The menu is varied and interesting; starters delicious, particularly the potted crab and prawns. The main courses were well cooked full of flavour and very generous. I found the desserts a little too sweet for my taste. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
Excellent food, wonderful setting. Will be back. Thank you. 😁
The staff were friendly, polite, helpful and efficient and the food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back.
Some nice touches which made us feel good and catered really well, such as the free cup of soup for our child and the bread they gave to feed the ducks with. The complimentary soup was nice to receive. We love coming here.
I brought 2 American Rotarians as a farewell meal and they were very impressed with the setting and food. The lasagne was “almost as good as my own” Well done Waterside
Great service. Tasty food. Lovely location. We will go back.
This was our first trip to The Waterside since it was taken back over but the Finlay’s and it did not disappoint. The ribeye steak was fabulous - very tender and tasty. It came with a good sized portion of pepper sauce, tomato, mushroom and chips. There was also a large bowl of salad which we thought was a bit over the top. A small portion of pea shoots/ rocket/ watercress would have been much nicer. The breaded fish and chips were excellent. The breadcrumbs were very light and stayed crispy even after squeezing the lemon over it. The fish was very fresh and very tasty. Pudding were good portions and very scrumptious. The tablet which came with the coffee was to die for! A very small thing which we thought could improve the eating experience was to have salt and pepper mills rather the the table salt and ground pepper in a crust set. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back!
Food was fine. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly.
Arrived an hour early because of rain and walk to restaurant taking less time. First time visit. Staff couldn't have been more friendly and found us a table. Overall service was polite and the servers smiled but what I liked is that they weren't over friendly - professional and helpful and left us alone. Thank you it was a great experience and we'll be back.
We had a fantastic to celebrate two birthdays. As usual the service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Our favourite restaurant in the Lothians!
Superb service. Beautifully cooked main courses with plenty of delicious vegetables. Definitely visit again.
Fantastic location, amazingly friendly staff and lovely food. We went for my wife's birthday and the staff couldn't have made it feel more special. Thank you to Stuart and the team.
Quality place, quality food, quality staff 👌🏻 highly recommend 👌🏻
Great lunch, good food served by attentive staff. Will certainly come again.
On arrival we were greeted and welcomed... always a good start The setting and style of the bistro makes for a relaxing trip back in time We were with two olderlie types who take a bit longer to process things and can't take too much information onboard. The staff were very patient and understanding. The menu and specials meant there was plenty of choice to suit everyone
Had a great time. The food was delicious and really good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will certainly go back.
The food was great, the portions are large. Everything was great value for money. We were in the small bar area and it was quite busy and a bit noisy but it was a Sunday evening. I would recommend a visit here.
Very enjoyable lunch, good food, good atmosphere. Certainly be back.
Nice post-Easter meal - good food, attractively presented. But service was a bit slow: I think they may have been short of a member of staff. We were also surprised that a group at an adjacent table had been allowed to bring a dog into the restaurant - this was in the restaurant area, not the bar (and it clearly wasn't an assistance dog).
Delicious Sunday Lunch, relaxed atmosphere, great with children and dogs
Great service and amazing food. Really enjoyable experience. Thank you
best choice in Haddington, is expensive but everything is freshly made
Lovely as always Great food Really lovely staff Dog friendly
Picturesque setting and delicious food. Excellent friendly service. Highly recommended!
All good very attentive service, some portions a little small while other choices were substansial

At Waterside for lunch. Food was good, waiting staff were not very attentive or friendly. Would return.
Been visiting The Waterside Bistro for over 20 years and have always found it brilliant. Great location and when the sun shines no better place to be on the river. Food and drinks excellent, staff superb. Excellent - well done team Waterside x
Fantastic meal, great service, very helpful staff, can't fault at all
We had a lovely time, the food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
A little disappointed with choice of starters but that probably due more to what I personally like. Food was however as fantastic as ever and staff super friendly.
Lovely visit, the staff are excellent, both professional and friendly. Food not cheap by any means but of an excellent standard. Very good varied menu. Well worth a visit....and the setting is very attractive also
This is the second time I’ve dined at the bistro recently. The food was incredible- new chef I believe! Everything tasted delicious. A couple of points for improvement service is a little too fast, we needed just a little longer before our starter arrived to enjoy our bubbles and a little longer in between courses. Also you’re missing a trick not having a proper cocktail menu!
Lovely food, nice atmosphere, staff were nice , would go again
Great place lovely staff excellent food and service always go there when we are going up to Edinburgh
Great restaurant, food is always great! Service was friendly and efficient. Family friendly.
Lovely location, great food and very friendly staff, definitely recommend.
