Côte Hale

Delish food (crab to start, chicken grille main and the most gorgeous crème brulee for dessert!), great venue and lovely friendly staff. Will be back!

Slightly chaotic but the food was nice enough. The staff who greeted us didn't ask if we had a reservation but we got seated after some confusion about how many parties had turned up and who was with who. My wife did get hit by the waiter taking the disabled access ramp away from the front door because it hadn't been secured properly. The kitchen is located upstairs and the staff have to bring all to food down the stairs that lead to the toilets. Not sure I'm comfortable with the possible hygiene issues this may pose. When my wife went to the toilet she met a waitress on the stairs who had dropped a tray of food. It turned out to be our starter so we were given complimentary bread while we waited. The food was reasonable for the price paid and the decor and surrounds are pleasant. On balance I wont be hurrying back as there is plenty of competition in Hale and the toilet / kitchen thing doesn't sit well with me.

Brilliant atmosphere and great service, not what we expected with the Restaraunt being so newly opened. Food was fantastic and exactly what I have come to expect from Cote. Will be visiting again!

The food, service and ambience were excellent. Especially pleasing is the extensive gluten free menu, my wife being a celiac and the attendant knowledge of the staff. We will be back soon.

Already visited twice. Nice decor, friendly and attentive staff. Food interesting, well presented and tasty. Overall a positive experience. We intend to be regular visitors.

Great vibe, fantastic service and unbelievable food. Cote gives some of the Manchester restaurants a run for their money! We will definitely be going back again!

Excellent service. Great atmosphere and the food was exceptional as usual. Would highly recommend the french onion soup followed by Breton Chicken and of course you can't go home without sampling their delicious tarte tatin.

Excellent evening at Cote Brasserie, Hale. Great, efficient service, food lovely. My steak was perfectly cooked and my husband was impressed with the delicious fish stew. I will be returning!

Nice welcome from front of house staff member. I had haddock main which was lovely but my partner's steak frites just ok! Main issue was it wasn't very hot! Dessert of pancakes tasty but overpriced.

Great service, excellent food and very pleasant environment. Highly recommended - especially the deserts! I have a slight issue with having the tip included (suggested) in the base bill and would prefer to decide that for myself and give cash. I realise i can juggle it around but why should i have to be told to tip?! Would have been top score without that minor annoyance, and will definitely not stop us from going again.

Enjoyed a very good and tasty meal at a reasonable price. Welcomed nicely on arrival but actual server could have been a bit more friendly. Would definitely return.

Great atmosphere, lovely food and a lot of choice for everyone's taste. The background music was very discreet, staff efficient and helpful - highly recommended! I would definitely go back there.

Great friendly service. Starters were enjoyed and a very acceptable interval left before mains arrived. My reason for not giving maximum rating is because my grilled chicken was lukewarm, the jus was hotter but not really hot enough. The 3 others seemed to be happy so I did not want to complain and spoil the occasion. Puds were also enjoyed. The frozen berries and chocolate sauce always go down well. We enjoyed a very acceptable bottle of house red. We have been to Manchester several times but now you have opened we will be back.

Staff were great but unfortunately the food was pretty average Queue at the door when we arrived and a few annoyed customers due to "computer problems" which overbooked the restaurant Doubt I will be returning

Quick service and pleasant staff at the restaurant. I would return for dinner again. The vibe was not particularly young but it suited the group I was with.

food was good and staff were helpful as they could be but there was a great deal of confusion over the booking and the link to the rewards system when we arrived which meant the start of the evening was not totally relaxing

Great atmosphere, had a choice of which table we wanted. Very attentive service, taking our coats etc. Amazing food, good selection on the menu for different tastes and cooked to perfection.

We visited with friends and all ordered different main courses and desserts, all dishes were well presented and delicious. There is a superb choice of desserts. The service was excellent. We will be returning on a regular basis.

not welcome at the door , waitress poor English food to table incorrect needed to chase staff for missing items steak poor quality full of water , poor dressing , French restaurants always serve snails and you don't ? bread to the table an after thought , [2] the chips were warm !!!

Rather disappointed as had been recommended to try you .No bread with soup was offered and then had fillet steak from Valentines Day menu with no vegetables at all . Had mussels but the sauce was rather tasteless.

A perfect dining experience. The staff were superb - nothing seems to be too much trouble. A really first class restaurant and a welcome addition to Hale.

Great food, the mussels especially were amazing. however check your bill as they didn't give us the lunch price automatically so I had to get them to change it.

Great choice of food and really delicious! Excellent, friendly service too. The whole party enjoyed the meal, would thoroughly recommend it, especially the lunch set menu.

Welcome v good; wine choice average to poor; food choice good; quality acceptable but not brilliant; service pleasant although finished dishes not always cleared quite quick enough. Suggest to change the bread to regular quality baggetts, sour dough is, we feel, an acquired taste. Bill for four was just over £160, which included 3 starters, 4 mains, 4 puds 4 coffees and 6 glasses of wine, which we felt, was only just OK. It is quite noisy. On balance we will be happy to 'go' again.

Their steak frites is a joke unfortunately! People in Hale deserve something better...not grizzley rump steak. The staff are fine ..very courteous and obliging and I would hope their a la carte will be perfectly acceptable and will try that next time. Thank you.

A total surprise, i anticipated the usual chain restaurant offering and service, how wrong I was. I had to change our on line booking by phone it was dealt with courteously and efficiently. This carried through to our welcome and the service from our waiter Elliot. On querying two of the dishes on the menu he sought and advice from the kitchen and returned promptly with confident answers. The food was served in a timely fashion, hot and well presented, none of the side dishes nor drinks were forgotten or delayed. All in all an exemplary result compared with the myriad of chain restaurants that have opened in and around Manchester of late. Well done!

The customer service is fantastic, friendly, attentive and fun. We were looked after very well. The food was delicious, I couldn't fault it at all.

Lovely ambiance, friendly and helpful service, very tasty traditional and rustic French cuisine without fuss. Felt quite at home taking family with 2 young boys early evening. Good luck Côte, Hale...we'll be going again.

Average food with poor service. Our initial waiter was awful. He had absolutely no interest in what we were asking. Poured my wine into my water glass. Won't be returning any time soon.

Great food and good value. Children loved the mussels and adults enjoyed the burger... shared a chocolate fondant... delicious. Not bad value for money too.

Great food and service. Good menu choice, although starters, desserts and alcohol by the glass quite expensive. Didn't appreciate the "complimentary welcome drink" appearing on our bill, nor the 12.5% gratuity (albeit optional) appearing on the bill.....no one would spoil an "evening out" by asking for this to be removed; Cote should pay their staff a decent wage rather than asking their customers to subsidise it.

It was our first visit to Cote, but we had a beautiful meal, the staff were fabulous,... we will definitely come back ! Thank you

So far the best food in Hale, if you want real food that is the place. Amazing, really good service and the steak was perfect and good quality.

The Breton Fish Stew was excellent and great value for money. At last a decent sized and very good Creme Brûlée Service was also quick and extremely friendly.

A vast improvement on the indifferent service offered by Hale grill towards the end, good food, friendly staff and more ambient surroundings, well done Cote Brasserie, keep it up.

Food quality was not as good as received in Manchester (x5) or Lincoln (x2). Service was good and table location excellent. Probably stick with Manchester in future.

Super food ,lovely staff ,great ambiance .Thoroughly enjoyed it ,met some nice people as well ,would definitely return and recommend to friends and family .Brilliant night.

There was plenty of choice of menus. There was a la carte, February Specials, or Valentines 3 course meal. We had the Rib Eye Steak, and it was cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly. We will definitely be eating there again.
