Giraffe - Southbank

Great location and delicious food and also truly amazing service

It’s the 1st time we have eaten at giraffe, we will definitely visit again the next time we come to London. The Staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was great.

Lovely atmosphere for a family lunch and worth it for the river views

Some of the waiting staff were a bit abrupt and intrusive - over keen to clear the table when we were still eating.

I have used Giraffe in the past and it is never disappointing. Good value for money. I booked a table in the terrace as one of my friends and all Was ready for our arrival. Thank you

Clueless staff, no procedure & queue jumping start the visit, using the tablet seems quick, food arrived staggered over 15 minutes with no apology or explanation - would not have left a tip if it hadn't already been taken ahead of eating! Giraffe need to seriously give these staff some training and assistance, they also appeared woefully understaffed and not prepared for a busy Sunday Lunchtime rush

The restaurants was cold and the food was not tasty

It was a really busy lunchtime but the staff were so amazing

Everything felt very rushed. We were told a couple of times that we only had the table for 90 mins. The waitress was friendly and was the only thing that made this an “okay” review. Food came out really quickly and was ok. There just wasn’t really anything to set it apart from McDonald’s. You order on a tablet and they bring it over. I remember Giraffe from before and it was really good. Now it’s just burgers, really. It was fine. I wouldn’t rush back, though.

Giraffe has gone down hill. Very limited menu compared to a few years ago. Small, expensive portions. I like red onion.....but not when it's half the salad. And asking people to order via a screen takes away so much of the pleasure of eating out. It's called hospitality for a reason: staff should actually care whether customers are having a nice time which is pretty hard when interaction is minimal. And don't get me started on the idea of putting games on the table iPad....

Really friendly and helpful staff and happy to adapt menu to suit dietary requirements. A bit noisy, but to be expected on the Southbank. Good stuff, we will come again.

Excellent venue for family meals. Good, friendly service from cheerful, helpful staff. But 12.5 per cent service charge is NOT voluntary, as you well know, otherwise you wouldn't put it on the bill's total. Just stop it please

Took a long time and food was a bit cold

The food and staff were good but the restaurant was freezing. We had to put our coats on to eat. You need an automatic closing outside door

Good food- had the swinging chicken kebab- good service. Nothing to complain about.

We have two babies with us, the restaurant was too cold for them to manage. The pasta bowl for the toddler was poorly cooked Literally a terrible experience for the family. Would not come back.

Food wasn't great, not particularly hot or good quality. The restaurant was cold despite there being a double door entry and the beer was flat.

Sadly very bad food and not good value for money

We have been to this Giraffe many times and had better experiences. The menu was rather limited whilst the Korean chicken I ordered was good but the portion very small.

Very prompt service and food nice and hot. Bit pricey

It was extremely busy and the waiters had to work hard to keep up. Our food came at different times and we were aware of mistakes being made at nearby tables. However, our food came quickly and the waiters remained cheerful and helpful. The ladies toilets need a refurbishment and there are not enough of them.

Food was good. Toilets need work and renovation. The at table ordering system encourages you to tip but auto adds a service charprge, not good

Had pre booked but arrived early and they were great at seating us earlier even though was really busy. Food choices great - party was age 7-70 And we all had great choices!

The children’s food was fine but the adults was terribly over priced and dreadful quality.

Staff were friendly but the restaurant is cold; draughty and the toilets are dirty. Burgers were tasty but the Thai Duck stir fry was disappointing. Two buts in one review….. More thought and effort required towards customer experience.

Speedy meal for six before family theatre show at the National. Fish and chips were delicious as on my last visit. Desert requested in take away and arrived quickly as our time was ticking. Can't fault food or service......except more mushy peas and smaller chips maybe.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The food was super but it was cold and draughty. We moved table once but had to wear coats and hats indoors while we ate. Not pleasant

Group of 11 seated next to the toilets. The smell was gross. We almost left to go elsewhere. Everything else was ok.

We had to pay for the food when using the tablet on the table before the order would be processed, which seems weird because we wanted to order desserts later and we had to organise that separately. We ordered starters, and mine turned up at the same time as the main, which was a bit annoying, and my friend's didn't turn up at all. The waiter said she hadn't ordered it, and indeed it wasn't on the bill, but she had definitely entered it on the tablet. The food was OK, but not great. My friend's steak was too large and not very well cooked. My waffle was small and not very well cooked either. The menu has got a lot smaller than it used to be which is a shame.

Great friendly staff. Excellent service. Food, fun and uncomplicated. Possibly the nicest fish and chips we’ve had for a while. The batter was perfectly crispy. The option to have gravy was inspired!
