Food and service great. We came to watch the rugby which was good as the big screen dominates. Not good for any couples hoping for romance on Valentine's day.
Great food, nice atmosphere. Watch out for the January promotion 50% off food all week except Saturday and Sunday. We always enjoy our meals there
Booked a table for 6 for a friends birthday. The service and the food was fantastic and I will definitely be dining there again in the future.
Food was mixed, some of the burgers were medium rare and others overcooked. We had a half price offer for food so was worth it. Problem with the bill at the end but overall a good atmosphere.
The service was cheerful and the food was good. The football was on the big screen and although I like football I was hoping for a quieter relaxing evening, maybe I should of done a little more research about what happens at the pub on certain evenings - apart from that all was good.
A delicious meal in a friendly atmosphere. The pie is top notch and accompanied by perfectly cooked cabbage. A real pleasure. I was too full for a pudding but those I saw on other tables looked lovely.
Food and service was great. But the table area was quite cold. So much so that I had to keep my coat an at all times. The rest of the restaurant is fine, but the last table before the bathroom should either have a manual heater or not be used in very cold days.
Amazing and great service, above everything the food is delicious
We spent New Year's Eve here. Very good food and atmosphere. The wait staff were extremely attentive and the final bill was very reasonable. I would definitely return.
Food was tasty and well presented. With 50% off food offer it was good value for money. Unfortunately the service was very slow and having come in with our dog we didn't feel like she was at all welcome even thought it's a dog friendly pub.
Nice atmosphere, however even though I had booked a table I was notified upon arrival that I only had the table for one hour and 45 minutes. Rather unusual for a pub, where people gather to spend an evening at their leisure. Perhaps more unusual is that if you don't reserve a table you can't sit down anywhere. While this might be rather good for business, it is not so great for its customers. A good pub, friendly staff, good food, but let down by self illusions of grandeur
I've eaten here about 20 times during 2015 - great Sunday lunch and very welcoming staff - I can highly recommend the roast dinners and the pies are fantastic!
Got a lovely private table which suited the occasion perfectly. Quality of food was great as ever. The jugs used for custard need to be a bit bigger. I never have enough in just one. And an extra custard tonight incurred a £1 charge, while objectionable is understandable. Attentive and knowledgeable staff.
Nice helpful staff, great food and drink in tasteful surroundings. A better choice of real ales would be welcome and the eating area was chilly thanks to being beside the single-glazed windows.
The Best pie ever! Lovely atmosphere and a good deal for January on the bank balance. I want to go back now, I am hungry!
Lovely waitress lots of smiles and quick with the food. Bit chilly sitting beside the window though. Food was delicious. Though my daughters burger a bit too well done and therefore she left some. Yes I'd go again.
Don't go here if you are a real ale fan. The cask conditioned ales are just not looked after very well. Tonight, there was only one option and the beer was cloudy and undrinkable. This is a consistent theme when visiting this pub but nobody seems to care enough to inmprove the situation. On the upside, the food arrived promptly and was tasty but I would have loved to have my drink of choice to accompany.
Excellent half price food in Jan. I had fillet steak and was enormous and perfectly cooked. Good pub quiz on a Tuesday fills up so advised to book
Booked the Tommyfield as we were at the cricket at the Oval. Menu is small but I tend to find that means the food is good and I wasn't disappointed ! Steak pie was fantastic full of meat and flavours. Table service was good given it was full. Slightly disappointed to find the optional 12.5% service is added to the bill given its a pub. I would have added it as a tip anyway but would have liked the choice.
The Chicken Pie is a must have! I get it every time I go and it never fails. Great atmosphere for a delightful evening with friends.
Really helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. The food was beautiful and reasonably priced can't fault our visit at all. Will defiantly be back!
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meal was excellent
Second time at the Tommyfield the staff and food were once again first class however our room (room 5) was not as clean as on our previous visit nothing major just could have done with a dust and the bath a hadn't been cleaned.
Tommyfield is on a good location, this if you are close to Kennington / Vauxhall. Good food and good service. Very good pies. I was expecting a better fish and chips.
I am very lucky to have the TommyField as my local! They are part of the Tastecard scheme making them a steal, have amazing food and service! Will be back next week :)
Great pub food and dog friendly. We love casual dinners at the Tommyfield. Pork belly is great and the pies are amazing. Highly recommend it
I'm a frequent diner at The Tommyfield and it never disappoints; with regular changes to the menu to keep it fresh and varied. Service is excellent.
Two of our party of four arrived early but table was ready and it was no problem to wait for the other two before ordering. Two real-ales on handpump including the in-house brew which was a little lively. Initial choice of wine was not available but alternative was fine. Each of the party had a different dish, Steak Pie, Wild Boar Pie, Hake and another fish dish, all were good, pies were large and tasty. We have eaten in two of the other pubs in this group (Abbeville & Stonhouse) and this experience was just as good as those.
Friendly helpful waitress and excellent food. Great comedy night! Will definitely be back.
Another very good meal. The tommyfield never disappoints. Highly recommended
Tommyfield may be close to where we live in Kennington, but I would highly recommend this Gastro Pub both for the food and standard of service. Wild Boar Pie is excellent😃
Change of menu....very nice but it's in need of a few salads
Very friendly service, and delicious food. The portions were reasonable, and the steak delicious. My mam had the pie, a fully encrusted pie with huge lumps of steak - again gorgeose. The pork crackling tasted a bit funny but the belly pork was nice. The chocolate brownie desert was also gorgeous.
Love the food staff and the quiz on a Tuesday. Fully recommend
Great service and staff as well as lovely food as always!
Always love the quiz at the Kennington! Great food and great fun.
Great food; excellent service from staff who knew the menus, and had the balance between annoying and absent just right. Excellent value - was using taste card.
Overall a very nice meal. May have got top marks had they not put us on a very small table and then tried to charge us for the wine on the adjoining table.....not once, but twice !
Order any one of the pie's and you can't go wrong.
Great atmosphere and lovely pies ! Unfortunately forgot to serve the Camembert to start, but service was excellent otherwise. Will certainly be booking again soon
